Legend
Highly active attacking the paint on drives, Borcherding has excelled utilizing her refined footwork on spin moves and kick out passes for Legend’s endless supply of perimeter shooters. One of the better post passers in the state, the forward can be used as a hub for cutters and perimeter shooters. Active in crashing the glass on either end of the floor, Borcherding plays a vital role in creating great shots for herself and perimeter scorers.
Highlights
Highly productive on the glass and knocking down three point attempts off the catch, Wilhelm has been one of the most productive backcourt players on this team. Efficient beyond the arc, she has no trouble letting it fly versus pressure. Also incredibly active grabbing rebounds on both ends, she has helped this group solidify their rebounding advantage in most games.
Gavi brings a refined offensive skillset, letting the defense dictate her next move to pick her spots. Efficient beyond the arc, defenses are forced to make hard closeouts, although her quick first step following a ball reversal has been excellent. Capable of getting to short floaters before help arrives, the guard is truly impactful in so many ways within only a couple dribbles. Her quickness across the board has aided her perimeter defense, stifling versus so many ball handlers.
Lamb is always a threat in the break, launching one-handed skip passes on the move or nailing trailer threes on the secondary break. A sturdy guard, she has been notably impactful as a connector and complementary scorer, adding to an already very efficient group.
Ashley Houlberg
Ashley Houlberg
Houlberg has done well guarding up against forwards when needed, standing her ground and not biting on far away pump fakes. Another area of impact has been her readiness on catch and shoot jumpers, typically in the mid-range.
Monarch
Williams is the real deal, a staunch interior defender while moving especially quick down low. Doing well to maximize her wide reach on two-handed contests, the forward is particularly difficult to score on inside. Doing well to maintain legal position, she notched 4 blocks last night bringing her to 2nd among all Colorado freshman and 2nd among everyone in 6A. Although not given many opportunities in the post due to alert double teams, she did well reacting and making the kick out pass to open shotmakers.
A handful to slow down inside the arc, Luther’s positional size and refined skill set makes her immensely difficult to deal with. Capable utilizing in and out moves to lull defenders, her long strides get her deep into the lane quickly for efficient finishes. Her fluid release on the jumper brings value, stretching out beyond the line from attempts off the catch.
Ginger Milot
Ginger Milot
Milot will be a valuable floor spacer and complementary scorer this season, always getting out early in transition situations.
The guard is a selfless, yet daring playmaker, active hitting bounce passes through tight spaces for cutters and rollers. She will be a passer worth following this season.
Weiss was active setting up the halfcourt offense, getting passes into the post on rolls or through bounce passes in tight space.
