From the seven teams I covered I did get to see a lot of talent heading into the 2023-24 season. Today, I will look at some of the playmakers I thoguht did a good job with the ball in their hands.
Aaliyah displayed a very good smooth pull-up jumper from the midrange, making her an instant threat anytime she got possession ot the ball around the paint. She elevates and releases the ball well but she is not limited to just the midrange. She can also step out and drop the three and gets her shot off quickly, able to score well off the pass.

For only being a sophomore, Eva is a very skilled guard with a lot of weapons to help her team. Not only is she a very solid finisher with either hand at the rim, but she has good footwork and poise, able to handle pressure and maintain composure when things don’t go well. She knocked down a clutch three during Carroll’s comeback attempt against Fairland. Ava also showed excellent court vision and showed me nice improvement on her overall game.
While she wasn’t the main focal point with the scoring aspect of the game, Katie did a lot of things well to make her an impact on the Magnificat offensive scheme. She does have a good quick release and shoots well off the pass, but she can also settle into the corner and connect from longrange. I love her court vision and the ability to find her teammates. Just a hard-nosed guard who does the little things for her team.
She will be a big part of this years team who looks to put together another magical run deep into the tournament. Jenna has a good quick release and range to force defenses out of a zone. She runs the floor well in transition and is able to finish well at the rim. Also has a good explosive step to take her defender downhill and score at close range. Her game and stock has gone up! Sometimes she is not the high scorer, but Kam always plays the game the right way and in command when she is on the court. Great handles and can push the tempo to her speed. Can drive and dish for the score, or knock down the long range shot. She is a quarterback on the floor and makes Fairland successful.
