Oh me, oh my did she ever. With her Indians’ in need of a game-winning bucket, she sunk the shot. She came up big. She made things happen. Call it whatever you want, she got the job done. Off a great pass from teammate Makaela Ullman Makaela Ullman 5'6" | SF Sissonville | 2025 State WV , she cut to the basket for a layup. Lincoln couldn’t answer. Ashlyn Riley Ashlyn Riley 5'8" | SF Lincoln | 2024 State WV ‘s drive at the buzzer fell short. All told, Britton tallied 21 points and 7 boards.
Emily Wratchford, Ravenswood, G, 5-4, Sr. – Talk about a great way to kick off your senior season! Wratchford joined her teammate and classmate Hadleigh McGoskey Hadleigh McGoskey 5'4" | SG Ravenswood | 2024 State WV in the big scoring column in the Red Devilettes’ opener against the Poca Dots. She poured in a career-high 23 points in the victory.
Kenna Maxell, Lewis County, CG, 5-5, Sr. – Kenna Maxwell Kenna Maxwell 5'5" | SG Lewis County | 2024 State WV made herself at home in her new digs. She made herself right at home. Fresh off a transfer to Lewis County, she dazzled during her first game as a Minutemaid. There’s nothing else you can possibly call her opener. She scored, she assisted, she rebounded, and she accomplished everything in style. On a night the Maids’ started their path back to Charleston, she added her own boom. By the time the game was done, she’d thrown up 24 points from all around the floor. Just in case those tallies weren’t enough, she added a few nifty dimes and rebounds.
Ava Workman Ava Workman 5'6" | PG Greenbrier East | 2027 WV , Greenbrier East, PG, 5-6, Fr. – West Virginia, meet Ava Workman Ava Workman 5'6" | PG Greenbrier East | 2027 WV . Two games into her high school career, she’s made waves. Points. Assists. Shots. You name it and she has shown it. Neither Oak Hill, nor Bridgeport stopped her. Against both foes, the freshman showed that her game is ready for the Mountain State prep scene. She burned the Red Devils with a stat-stuffing opener of 19 points, six rebounds and five steals, then she tallied 16 points and seven steals against the Indians. For those who hadn’t kept score, those averaged out to 18 points, six boards, and six steals per game for her young career.
