Roberts scored off the dribble by attacking the basket from the wing with either hand but she also did a good job creating her shot under pressure. I think her “catch and shoot” probably impressed me the most because I see she’s added it from the last time I caught her. She hit the boards, handled the ball in transition and saw the floor
Hamilton recently broke her school record by going over the 2000 point mark yet I knew that was coming before she entered high school and I can’t remember when I dropped the #d1Lock on her, it was sometime after the 2018 article and before the one in 2020 yet I don’t do make believe and I knew what was coming. She scores multiple ways, her jumper from mid to long-range as well as off the dribble are all nice but watching her post up and score off balance with the turnaround as well as the fadeaway had me smiling
Tate grabbed my attention last season and keep in mind, I am a REAL EVALUATOR so it doesn’t take me know long to separate what’s real but I mentioned her being long and athletic and the same thing applies when you’re a guard, that’s the base. Speaking of guard, she’s tough to contain because she’s explosive and does things with the ball, like her crossover yet her acrobatic finishes are also nice, especially after contact. Her pull-up jumper has gotten better, so has gotten better, so has her court vision but she does a good job defending and her playing the passing lane JUST DID IT for me. I’ll drop something on her team later
Cline started off the game dropping jumpers from multiple spots, that’s what she does and seeing her mix it up and score off the dribble to me back to yesteryear and watching her in elementary school as she transitioned from an back to the basket player to a guard that can score. She also saw the floor and her understanding of positioning helped her to outrebound taller players
Highlights
King continues to show progression and at times, she was overpowering around the basket to finish strongly after contact, this includes putbacks and yes, she rebounds on both ends of the court. She can also go coast to coast and finish or dish, she attacks off the dribble in the set but her midrange jumper is a threat and it gives her options to score and keeps the defender on alert. On the flip, her interior defense was solid, and so was her stepping outside the paint to guard her man
