In the first of three stories over the next few days, I will also be looking at some stockrisers and the Standouts from those games i got to see. First up, the shooters who loved to let it fly!
Gracie Anderson

One of the main threats in the Covington offense, Gracie often set herself up in the corner and was ready to shoot. Can either launch it from deep in the corner, or I also saw her fake her opponent and take a couple of steps in and score from 10-feet. She has good handles and is one of their main offensive weapons, along with having the experience to lead the team.

Excellent three-point shooter with a quick release, can shoot off the screen from anywhere behind the arc. She’s able to defend different positions, at times, creating a mismatch. She has good length and a wingspan that allows her to cause a problem in the paint for teams trying to score around the rim.
Shot the 3 ball well, knocked a few down in this game. Ended with 22 points, can get to the rim and get to the rim. Also able to score on the pull-up. Gets a lot of steals with good anticipation. Reads well on defense, much better off-ball.
This young lady was actually selected player of the game on a night that I was in attendance, and she just quietly gets the job done without a lot of fan-fair. Her numbers spoke for themselves. She had 12 points, 13 boards, five steals and three blocks. If you need a senior, who works hard and can be developed into even a better player at the next level, check her out!

Explosive step to the rim with experience. Steady player, who can contribute in different ways for her team. I like the way she anticipates the play and can read the game on defense with the opportunity to come up with the big steal. She’s quick with good handles and can push tempo. Also a strong passer. Great complement to Brumbaugh in the back court. Loves to knock down the big three-point shot!

She has a nice free throw touch, she is active with quick hands and able to cause deflections. A quick touch from behind the arc. Something else she showed me was an explosive first step to the rim where she’s able to elevate and finish. Good court vision had a nice outlet. Good pass on the break after coming up with the defensive stop.
