Continue ReadingWhitefield Academy is 14-5 on the season, and are one spot away from being the top team in Region 6. One thing about this program is that there is always a collaborative scoring effort and not just one or two players putting up all the points. They have 4 starters averaging double-digits in scoring this season. Junior forward Noel Smith Noel Smith 5’7″ | PF Whitefield Academy | 2025 State KY has been a key contributor for the Lady Wildcats, averaging 11.2 (PPG) along with a team-leading 7.5 (RPG). Smith impacts the game in many different ways with her ability to score, rebound, defend and facilitate the ball. She stuffed the stat sheet the other night against Oldham County finishing the game with 14 points, 6 boards, 8 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals.

Lillian Hoagland Lillian Hoagland 5’9″ | CG Daviess County | 2025 State KY has been on a roll for Daviess County in her junior campaign. She has a quick first step and it as at her best when she drives the lane to penetrate and kick or finish strong at the rim. She shows range from deep and is a tough defender that gets steals and creates turnovers with her ball pressure. Hoagland is the teams second-leading scorer putting up 14.8 (PPG) and leads the team in free throws, shooting 78.5% from the line making 73 out of 93 of her attempts this season.
Isabelle Combs Isabelle Combs 5’9″ | PF Lafayette | 2025 State KY is a true post player that is leading the charge for the Lafayette Generals this season. She’s the teams leading scoring putting up almost 14 points per game and rebounder with 9.2 per game. Combs is tough, and plays physical in the paint, she’s a rim protector, and a great rebounder, that can score at the rim and with her back toward the basket.
Highlights
Corrine Trammell is making some noise at McCreary Central this season. She’s getting almost 7 points per game along with 7.2 rebounds and is fresh off of securing her 700th career rebound against Barbourville last week. Trammell is a strong rebounder, and a good passer, that can score inside and step out and shoot it from deep. Her playmaking ability is what makes her so special, she is a post player with guard like skills and very good instincts on the court.

Chapel Brown Chapel Brown 5’8″ | SG LCA | 2025 State KY is another player from Lexington Christian Academy that is catching my attention. The Great Crossing transfer has been a great addition to the Lady Eagles roster and has been nothing short of impressive this season. She is leading the team in scoring with 14 points while grabbing almost 7 rebounds and leaves it all on the floor each and every game. Brown is a 3-level scorer that has a knack for putting the ball in the basket. She also leads the team in 3-point field goals shooting 40% from the behind the arc averaging 2.6 made 3’s per game. LCA has a lot of team chemistry and a really good coaching staff, I see them finishing the season on a high note.
