Here is a look at some of the top scorers in the eastern part of Kansas.
Caelyn Ferguson Caelyn Ferguson 6'0" | CG Heritage Christian | 2024 State KS , 6’0”, SG/SF, Heritage Christian Academy, ‘24
One of the top scores on the eastern side of the state is the Chargers Ferguson. The senior is averaging 18.2 points in five games. That’s a five-point increase from her 13-plus points per game total during her junior campaign. The athletic scorer is also a plus defender who is averaging two steals and 4.2 rebounds a game for the 4-1 Chargers.
Korie Kirkwood Korie Kirkwood 5'8" | SF Valley Falls | 2024 State KS , 5’8”, SG/SF, Valley Falls, ‘24
Kirkwood is scoring at a fire-breathing pace for the Dragons. The Valley Falls senior is scoring 16 points per game through seven contests. She is currently creating a resume that would make her a candidate for the Class 2A-All State team. She is averaging eye-popping numbers with 9.1 rebounds, 4.3 steals, and 2.1 assists per game.
Zoey Sims Zoey Sims 5'9" | PF Fredonia | 2024 State KS , 5’9”, PF, Fredonia, ‘24
The Yellowjacket senior is bringing rain and cleaning the glass for Fredonia. Through seven games she is scoring at a 15-point per-game clip, and averaging 7.6 rebounds per contest. She can score in the paint and in transition.
Grace Hett, 5’5”, CG, Marion, ‘24
Hett has already committed to play volleyball for Wichita State University, but she is also scoring well on Marion’s basketball court. The Warriors’ combo guard is producing for Marion in all aspects of the game also averaging 4.5 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.2 assists in six games.
Alexandra Pasquarelli, 5’11”, F, Erie, ‘24
Another dual sport athlete I am familiar with is Erie’s Pasquarelli. She is scoring 13.9 points and collecting 5.7 rebounds in seven games. The Red Devil prospect is a physical athlete whom I have seen play volleyball. She is a middle and outside hitter for Erie’s netters.
Trinity Espinoza Trinity Espinoza 5'7" | CG Canton-Galva | 2026 State KS , 5’7”, CG, Canton-Galva, ‘26
Espinoza is a versatile player who can score from three levels. She is averaging 18 points per game for the 6-3 Eagles. She is posting solid numbers across the board averaging three rebounds, 3.6 steals, and 1.9 assists per game.
Macy Cubit, 5’6”, CG, Central Heights, ‘26
Cubit, a combo guard, is scoring 10.8 points per game for the Central Heights Vikings. She is scoring from the free-throw line at a solid pace. Through five games she has scored 28 points from the charity stripes and is shooting 60 percent from the line.
Kailynn Jacobson Kailynn Jacobson 5'8" | SG Mission Valley | 2027 State KS , 5’8”, CG, Mission Valley, ‘27
Another young Viking guard to watch, this one from Mission Valley a freshman. In six varsity games, she has scored 10.5 points per game and three rebounds. She is quick and athletic and plays multiple sports. She plays defensive specialist in Mission Valley’s volleyball program.
