I will have complete Classic in the Country coverage today and tomorrow, and our first look is some standouts who shined in the Saturday morning games. NOTE: My all-tournament team and Freshman to Watch story will be released later and will include some players from this morning not listed in this article.
Leah Borquin
Leah Borquin
She showed great leadership and is able to score in a variety of ways. Really like her focus and body control as she is able to get to the rim and finish with either hand. One of their main components in their successful season, and she showed a lot of good things in this game.
Hadley Jones
Hadley Jones
Western Brown is a scrappy team with some nice pieces to the puzzle, and Hadley is one of the key players this season. She has a solid perimeter game and is a good catch-and-shoot player. Knocked down several threes for Western Brown and isn’t shy to let it fly. Recovers quickly on the defense side of the ball.
Laykyn Jones
Laykyn Jones
Plays with passion and she is just a hard-nosed guard with good handles and looking to make the right play for her team. Loves to distribute and has good court vision. Scrappy and assertive with the ball. Love to watch her play defense, she puts fourth a major effort!
Love the way she leads on both sides of the ball. She is a good solid defender who can put pressure on her opponent and with active hands and quickness, forces mistakes. Good basketball IQ and plays above her sophomore year. Can score in a variety of ways, good perimeter game and is continuing to add to her game. Great court awareness.

Avery is able to play both inside or out, but a lot of time you will find her out on the perimeter. She is long with a great wingspan that can cause issues in the passing lanes. Good soft touch around the rim. Huge with deflections. Will need to add strength for the next level, but she has a good ceiling in front of her.
Halle Warner Halle Warner 5'5" | PG Liberty Union | 2024 OH

Smart heady player who is fundamentally sound. A good pick-and-pop player for this player who has good size which enables her to play well both inside or out. Athletic kid who is able to play in a fast game and runs the floor well, finishing strong. Big contributor to this program!
Avery Brandewie Avery Brandewie 5'10" | SF Fort Loramie | 2025 OH

Excellent footwork and she does whatever it takes for her team. Sure she can score and rebound, but she also does the little things to help her team be successful. Good basketball IQ and she is a workhorse on the court.
Lyla Wilson
Lyla Wilson
Strong physical post who does a good job anywhere around the rim. Protects the rim. One of the things she did well was her ability to get the offensive rebound as she gets position in the paint. Can block and alter shots with her length.
