Navaeh Vasquez
Navaeh Vasquez
I was able to see Vasquez in a solid East Lansing win against Okemos. She did a really good job of letting the game come to her and utilizing her strengths. Vasquez had solid handles and seemed to always be in control of the ball. She was able to use those handles to help her beat defenders to a spot and hit a pretty floater. Vasquez was able to push the pace off a rebound and pick up an assist on the other end. Maybe her most impressive play of the day came when she showed game IQ by passing, repositioning in open space for when the ball was reversed, and buried the triple.
Vani Sharma
Vani Sharma
Sharma came off the bench and was a complete game changer when she did. She showed a real knack for drawing contact and getting to the free throw line. I had her hitting 4-5 from the stripe in my notes. Sharma was a huge asset for the Okemos team, providing a post threat in this game. She did a really good job of gaining position and then sealing her defenders for both herself and her teammates.
Allyson Merrihew
Allyson Merrihew
Merrihew was a key piece in a big Hudsonville win. She definitely drew my attention to her quality game and skill set as a versatile forward. Merrihew showed that she can be a highly efficient 3 level scorer for the Eagles. She had a quick and powerful 2 dribble drive and score at the rim as well as drawing a foul on a floater and converting the free throws off of it. Merrihew even stepped out and buried a 3 from the top.

Gregwer definitely turned some heads in Grandville’s close loss to Hudsonville. She was active on the glass, especially early in the game, and turned an offensive rebound into a put back bucket. Gregwer showed off a solid looking jumper in this game that she was able to hit at all levels. She buried a baseline mid range jumper than stepped out behind the arc and hit 2 triples, 1 of which was from well beyond the 3 point line.
