Ebel was a key player in an impressive Brighton win against a talented Canton squad. I really like the way she handled the ball efficiently and started the offense with a tight perimeter pass. Ebel always swung and moved the ball, never letting it stick and always forcing the defense to react and not settle in. She hit a couple jumpers off a catch and shoot, one from 3 point range and the other from deep in the mid range. Ebel also showed that she could attack the rim going left and finish.
Joiner played very well for Canton when they faced Brighton. She showed that she was versatile as a scorer. Joiner had a strong move to the left from the post that she drew a foul on. She utilized a swooping drive across the lane for an athletic bucket. Joiner was active and bouncy near the rim, grabbing at least a handful of offensive rebounds. She even showed off an athletic righty floater.
Gustafson is having an OUTSTANDING season and that continued in their win against Black River. She showed her power in the post and ability to slide over from the weak side and help on D in the paint. Gustafson scored with ease with her back to the basket and off put back opportunities when she did work on the offensive glass. She had multiple steals and deflections due to her ability to read passes and react. Gustafson proved to be an excellent passer as well. She had a really nice kick out pass from the paint to an open shooter and showed that she could face the rim and pass from the perimeter.
Highlights
Cribari left her mark in Canton’s loss to Brighton. She had the aura and look of a player that makes big plays at critical times. Cribari definitely got better as the game moved along. She came up with a big steal late in the game and hit the floor for a key offensive rebound. Cribari was able to go left with the ball and score as well as bury a jumper from behind the arc.

Mylah Simpson Mylah Simpson CG Saugatuck | 2027 State MI is a big time freshman talent. Her ball handling, basketball IQ and ease of movement all have that elite look. She worked very hard off the ball and was always willing to cut hard and find open spots in the floor in the win against Black River. Simpson was patient on offense and never forced the issue just to get a shot up. I was very impressed with her passing in this game. Simpson had multiple swing passes that led to assists and showed the ability to effectively feed the post.
