The Marlins went undefeated in the district for 10 years and their Fab 4 of Alaina Lee (Murray State) Tiffany Bogany (Alabama A&M) Patrice Reado (Texas A&M) and Alicia McDaniel (Louisiana Lafayette) were very special off the top and this group is already showing signs so travel back in time to a decade ago when I wrote about what they had done, a decade before that
Kinkaid is coming off a big win against TABC Private School #4 Episcopal
Flora is one of those players that can get hers “in the flow” or go on an offensive rampage and score in droves. Her mid to long-range is hard to handle right now yet she has nice body control on her finishes after contact. She defends in the set as well as baseline to baseline, she also plays the passing lane and has good court vision, both in the set as well as in the open court
Marshall is strong and overpowering around the basket and although she is a couple of inches shy of “the magic number”, she plays as if she’s taller and watching her outrebound players much taller shows she understand positioning yet her comprehension of the game blew me away when she was in elementary school and as we were talking, she was giving “on the money” evaluations. Her passes are also on the money as she plays multiple position yet scoring inside the paint after contact is a plus, so is her driving from the wing to score as well as facing the basket and dropping the jumper
Hull is one of the most explosive players in the area, all classes included and her upside is scary, not for me but for defenders because she mixes it up with ease and finds ways to put the ball into the basket. Her stop and pop jumper in transition is already showing signs of “next level ready” yet she also elevates over defenders in the set to drop it. Her “on the ball” pressure is smothering at times and she too plays the passing lane
Highlights
Walton has been watching her older sisters play since she started walking yet she also has been talking from the start of her playing and being “vocal on the court” is something I love to see from the 1. She understands how to control the tempo, she sees the floor and makes good decisions and she plays within herself yet she can score off the dribble as well as from outside
Highlights
Gordon is fluid around the rim, she does a good job of not only scoring around the basket but rebounds on both ends. Her interior defense is solid, she has good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots

Diara Gibbs
Diara Gibbs
Gibbs has all the tools that will keep her in the mix for the 2027 class. She’s smart, understands how to set the defender up and score under pressure, either off the dribble or from outside, plus her pressure defense is a big plus, read more
