It often takes more time for bigs to develop as they are working on gaining strength while learning how to post, duck in, high-low game, and all things working the paint. These freshman centers seem to have a good feel for the game, along with the other noteworthy names shared below.
Johnson is a mobile center. She runs rim to rim and also has ball handling abilities. I saw her get a steal and finish on the other end, and craft a finish past multiple defenders. She demonstrated speed with the ball going full court. She did a nice job setting screens for her teammates. These solid screens freed up teammates, and I could tell she has an understanding of how and where to set her teammate up for a screen. She did a great job of keeping her feet still on the screen- a trait not to be underestimated! Her presence was also felt in the paint as she had multiple blocks when guards entered the paint. With more time and experience she’ll understand how to find the open man or moves to spin around on double team
Addison Wragge
Addison Wragge
Wragge understands how to play in the schema for her team’s offense. She did a great job working the low block and short corner when her team was facing a zone. She never stayed stagnant and did a good job catching the ball on the low block, feeling the defense and making a move or kicking out. She keeps ball high and has beautiful left hand finishes. She plays with a calmness and appears to be a very consistent player for her team.

At her stature, Elizabeth Pittman Elizabeth Pittman 6’5″ | C Prosper | 2027 TX provides a strong presence inside for her team. She runs rim to rim to control the boards for her team. Catching on the low block, she uses her strength to catch and drop step to the basket. She drew a lot of fouls here, and shot above 70% from the free throw line. Once she improves her lateral speed, she will become an even more serious threat on both sides on the floor.
Aspen Hicks
Aspen Hicks
Hicks plays with grit! She’s a little undersized but after you see her play, you will forget about her size. She will have you marveling over her ability to clean up for her team on the glass. She out musters opponents on the offensive boards to get rebounds and take a dribble drop step to other side of the basket to finish. Hicks shows great spatial awareness and plays within herself. As the game was tight and down to the wired she showed composure with the ball. The atmosphere nor pressure defense, made her speed her game up. Hicks is an exciting senior big.
Emille Jones
Emille Jones
Jones is another undersized big, but her game earns her the title of a big. She is very agile for her size and has great footwork. Her inside positioning on rebounds allows her to control the boards. She gathers herself before going up strong, and has good timing on when to go up and get her defender off balance. She will get out to the perimeter to shoot the three, or she uses a tremendous shot fake to get to the basket.
