#6 up from #13 Johnson is another player I didn’t see over the club season yet with the magic of the internet and being a skilled REAL EVALUATOR, not a journalist or wanna be interviewer, I was able to see how much she has progressed from the last time I saw her live. @playerrimidies gave her the thumbs when she saw her but I expect an even larger season for her coming up see evaluations here

It came as no surprise to see Johnson named the Newcomer of the Year for her school team. She’s a big that can do multiple things for her team outside of getting the ball on the low block. Her ability to set screen to get her team’s open is impressive for a freshman. What’s even more impressive for her size and age is her ability to run the floor from rim to rim. Once she develops more interior moves to go with her strength, she will be deadly inside the paint.

Johnson is a mobile center. She runs rim to rim and also has ball handling abilities. I saw her get a steal and finish on the other end, and craft a finish past multiple defenders. She demonstrated speed with the ball going full court. She did a nice job setting screens for her teammates. These solid screens freed up teammates, and I could tell she has an understanding of how and where to set her teammate up for a screen. She did a great job of keeping her feet still on the screen- a trait not to be underestimated! Her presence was also felt in the paint as she had multiple blocks when guards entered the paint. With more time and experience she’ll understand how to find the open man or moves to spin around on double team

Johnson stands over “the magic number” and her “ceiling has no roof” because each time I see her, she has shown me something different. Yes, she is a solid back to the basket player, hands and footwork continue to get better, she even showed me something #THROWBACK, the drop step. She hits the boards on both ends, even handles the ball afterward but she also showed she could score off the dribble, as well as drop the midrange. Having a college ready body and being able to defend, on the ball, is also a huge plus
