Peoria/Estrella Foothills Notes

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On January 29th, the <strong>Peoria Panthers</strong> traveled to Goodyear to take on the <strong>Estrella Foothills </strong>Wolves in a battle of 4A West Valley teams. The wolves jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. At halftime, the Lady Wolves were up more than 30 as Peoria struggled without 2nd leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id='758868' first='Cieraka' last='Lynch'] to get any kind of offense going. The 2nd half was much more of the same as Estrella Foothills won in convincing fashion.<br><br><strong>Here I look at some of the standouts from the game:</strong><br><br>[player_tooltip player_id='339064' first='Madison' last='Pond'] <strong>Estrella Foothills</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The senior came out on fire from the perimeter and didn't let up the whole game. She clearly was on a mission, as she didn't miss more than 3 or 4 shots the entire game. She hit shots from all parts of the 3-point line. Her game wasn't just 3-point shooting. She made some nice passes to open teammates for good looks.<br><br>[player_tooltip player_id='660230' first='Michelle' last='Kogbara'] <strong>Peoria</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Kogbara did what she could to make her presence felt. She is a very good rebounder and does most of her work in the painted area. You have to put a body on her because if you don't, she can easily get double-digit offensive rebounds in a game. <br><br>[player_tooltip player_id='639463' first='Eva' last='Amenhauser'] <strong>Estrella Foothills</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Eva is a nice looking forward prospect that colleges should be on to. She displayed a variety of offensive post moves to get her shots off. She also played good defense and rebounded at a high rate. In addition, she is an excellent passer from the high post when she is drawing a double team. <br><br><strong>Omareeya Brown Estrella Foothills</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On senior night, Brown brought a ton of energy that was contagious to the game. She is a very good athlete who got out on the break and was the beneficiary of some very good passes from her teammates. On defense, she had very active hands, causing a handful of turnovers. <br></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
