The month of January has come to a close, but we saw some fireworks on the recruiting trail to end the month. Visits, offers and commitments alike, the Garden State was producing some exciting news about the future, both potential and definite, of some of these players. Here's the scoop for the latest recruiting update in New Jersey.

[player_tooltip player_id='333550' first='Tatianna' last='Collins'] - Morris Catholic (2025) offered by Manhattan College

Morris Catholic's junior big is getting some more love by the day as earlier this week, the Crusaders posted that she received a Division I offer from MAAC school Manhattan College.

The move to Morris Catholic has definitely been beneficial for her in terms of gaining more exposure, though the stats aren't quite where she would want them to be yet. Averaging 5.5 PPG and 5.0 RPG in 16 games is definitely good for the future, and playing alongside [player_tooltip player_id='325219' first='Alexis' last='Rosenfeld'] in the frontcourt will only continue to benefit her moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='325183' first='Dagny' last='Slomack'] - Newark Academy (2024) commits to Central Connecticut State

It was only a matter of time before we found out where Newark Academy standout senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='325183' first='Dagny' last='Slomack'] was going to be headed for college and on Jan. 27, she announced her commitment to Division I school Central Connecticut State.

The Blue Devils are getting a playmaker and grinder in Slomack, one of the best guards in this senior class who is already in the midst of her best season to date. Right now for the Minutemaids, through 15 games, she's averaging 18.4 PPG, 4.9 RPG and 4.7 APG, not to mention 5.1 steals a game and 2.3 made three-pointers a game. A member of the 1000 point club and 150 three-pointer club, Slomack is the real deal and then some.

[player_tooltip player_id='601266' first='Kennedy' last='Brown'] - Morris Catholic (2026) visits Fordham University

Brown is flourishing in her first season with Morris Catholic, fitting in seamlessly with the Crusaders, and the more she continues to excel, the more colleges have taken notice. Over the weekend, she toured Division I school Fordham University, adding to her list of college visits taken.

The consistency has shown immensely over the course of the season, averaging 7.8 points a game in 15 games with seven double-digit scoring performances to her name. Against some of the toughest competition in the country, she's stood her ground and gotten results, and it already seems like these continuously consistent results are going to get her playing at a big-time college program upcoming.

[player_tooltip player_id='488638' first='Ma'Ziyah' last='Richards'] - Plainfield (2024) offered by four schools

Plainfield's surprise senior standout, [player_tooltip player_id='488638' first='Ma'Ziyah' last='Richards'], has been on a tear this season, and within the past few days, four schools: Rutgers-Newark, Bryn Athyn College, Mercer Community College and Raritan Valley Community College, have all offered the guard.

It's about time she's gotten her flowers because what an incredible year she's having so far, averaging 20.3 PPG for the Cardinals along with 6.7 RPG, 2.9 APG, 2.4 made three-pointers a game and 3.9 steals a game. Just this year alone, she's scored more points and recorded as many rebounds and steals as the past two seasons combined. That's how insane she's been playing and how great it's been to watch.
