McMinnville's typical leading lady u002du002d [player_tooltip player_id='555196' first='Maddie' last='Gerhart'] u002du002d was not suited up for this particular game, which allowed Arzner to completely take over. The big guard is incredibly strong and powerful, which allowed her to virtually get to the rim at will and also helped her in her inspired rebounding efforts, both on the offensive and defensive ends. Her elite athleticism was on full display in these rebounds as well as in big defensive plays she made to steal the ball. One area in particular in which Arzner stood out in this game was in her high-post play, where she looked extremely comfortable turning around and knocking down smooth mid-range jumpers or attacking the basket after the defense was forced to step up. All around, [player_tooltip player_id='833642' first='Macie' last='Arzner'] was a fun prospect to watch who will absolutely be playing at the next level in a few years.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"[player_tooltip player_id='837706' first='Calista' last='Everson']","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"2026","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"5'6u0022","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"12123","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"Valley Catholic","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_1_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_1_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"I saw [player_tooltip player_id='837706' first='Calista' last='Everson'] play in Valley's home games on 12/15 against Neah-Kah-Nie and on 1/4 against Horizon Christian to kick off Lewis u0026amp; Clark League play. It is not surprising that Everson is a very good soccer player as well because her athleticism is so obvious within only a few possessions of watching her. She often runs the point for the Valiants where she pushes the pace at opposing defenses, and creates opportunities for her teammates by blowing by her defender and kicking. Everson is also more than capable of hitting from the outside or attacking and finishing at the rim herself. One of Everson's greatest assets is her defensive play. She is an elite defender, and in Valley's suffocating press, there are too many instances to count in which opposing players can't get it past her without turning the ball over. Only a sophomore, Everson will likely only continue to get better.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_player":["834138"],"_player_evaluations_2_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"In the Valley Catholic-Horizon Christian game on 1/4, I also had the opportunity to watch Horizon's star [player_tooltip player_id='834138' first='Alexis' last='Dockter'] play. Going against that tough Valiant defense, Dockter made several jaw-dropping plays over the course of the game. Scoring the majority of her team's points, Dockter did so on a lot of impressive fadeaway jumpers, tough floaters in the paint, or quick 3-pointers that she got off with only an inch of space. She is the type of playmaker that is incredibly fun to watch. Despite carrying the bulk of the scoring load, Dockter continued to look for her teammates and made some circus cross-court passes that only certain types of players can make. Horizon may struggle to win a lot of games this season due to their lack of depth, but Dockter will no doubt continue to impress as the season wears on.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["657652"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"","_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"On 1/10, I got the opportunity to watch Bayless and the Crusaders as they visited Sunset for a game. And to say Bayless quickly impressed me would be an understatement. In the first quarter, Bayless started the game going 4-4 from three-point range, which included one from super deep and one coming through an elevator screen off an inbounds play. In addition to these shots, she scored the first 14 of Jesuit's points which also included some smooth finishes off of fast breaks. Aside from her scoring abilities, Bayless ran the point for Jesuit the majority of the time she was in, and demonstrated a high IQ in her passing decisions, whether it was her perfectly timed passes into their talented post, [player_tooltip player_id='255257' first='Kendra' last='Hicks'], or her passes out to wide open teammates after attacking the rim and drawing help. She was also a pest on the defensive end, hounding the ball-carrier with quick hands and great position. [player_tooltip player_id='657652' first='Audrey' last='Bayless'] is one of the top point guards I have seen play this season.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"[player_tooltip player_id='837708' first='Kami' last='Carmean']","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"2025","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"5'8u0022","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"12121","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"Century","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_4_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"I had the opportunity to watch Carmean play in a home game against McMinnville on 1/9. Although Century struggled to stay in it against a very talented McMinnville squad, Carmean was one of the bright spots on the Jaguar side. A talented ball-handler, Carmean often ran the offense for her team, where she was a constant threat to shoot from beyond the arc in transition or coming off of screens, just whenever she was left open even just for a moment. She is also a very athletic defender with sneaky hands, and some of her defensive plays created some of the best opportunities of the night for the Jaguars. She also had a monster block from behind that could be fit for a highlight reel. Century will continue to rely on Carmean to play at a high level as they hunt for some wins in conference play.","_player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations":5,"_player_evaluations":"field_62aba7547dc44"},"mode":"edit","alignText":"left","anchor":"acf-block-65a042d612690"} /-->
