Michaela Hodge is an exceptional post player. She dropped 29 points for Northampton County in a win over North Edgecombe on Monday by connecting on 14 field goals. She also grabbed 17 rebounds – including 8 offensive boards – and blocked 8 shots. Hodge is a versatile and skilled post with an exceptional feel for the game.
Makailah Davis is an elite junior at South Mecklenburg High School. In a win over Pinecrest High School, Davis scored 30 points by shooting 55% from the floor, 50% from the three-point line, and 100% from the free throw line. Davis is a talented offensive player, and she is also an aggressive defender. Each game, she will create multiple steals through her quickness and high basketball IQ. Davis is a strong guard with an exceptional skill set.
Justice Alexander is only an 8th grader at Concord Academy. She stands 6’1, handles the basketball well, and has a smooth outside shot. On Monday, Alexander scored 31 points for the Eagles in a huge win over Westminster Catawba. On defense, Alexander has fantastic length. She can shoot passing lanes and read the defense well. In the win, Alexander created 7 steals that led to quick offense for her team.

Ryan Baker is a talented junior who knocked down 4 three-point field goals for Green Level on Monday. Baker is a spectacular shooter. In any game, she can drain shots in transition, in the half court, and from deep behind the three-point line. When Baker is on the court, she is a fierce competitor. She will do whatever it takes for her team to win the game. Baker is a willing rebounder, and she is also a strong defender.
Lola Vanore scored 22 points for Page High School. Vanore has a nice outside shot, and she has a consistent release. Yesterday, she shot 7 of 13 from the field, 3 of 5 from the three, and she drained 5 of 6 free throw attempts. Vanore is more than a shooter on the court, however. In this game, she also corralled 5 rebounds, passed for 3 assists, and forced 3 steals. Vanore is a complete player who is only getting better for the Pirates.
