Serenity Metcalfe
Metcalfe is one of the most intriguing stories in Wisconsin. Her family moved up to Shorewood from Alabama, where she won a state title and is now among the leading scorers in the state or the top scorer in the state. There is something special about scoring 40+ on multiple occasions, and Metcalfe has done most of her scoring off the dribble. She’s a tough shotmaker. I feel I don’t even have a full grasp on her because I haven’t seen enough of her yet. Regardless, she’s one of the breakout stories of the season.
Princess Nwachukwu Princess Nwachukwu 5'11" | C Vel Phillips Memorial | 2025 State WI
Nwachukwu is the most significant piece at Vel Phillips Memorial. Her ability to defend multiple positions, be an elite shot blocker, and anchor a team who’s outperformed expectations this season. Memorial is one of the younger teams in the Big Eight and has some younger guards poised to break out over the next few seasons. Nwachukwu’s defensive prowess around the basket allows them to be aggressive and make mistakes because she can clean up those mistakes on the backend.
Macie Neumeister Macie Neumeister 5'7" | SG Onalaska Luther | 2025 WI
The Luther off-ball guard does a little of everything. Neumeister is a kid who connects everything and can make any defensive philosophy make sense. For instance, she can switch on screens, navigate around ball screens, and use her lateral quickness. I also like her ability to get her hands on the ball. She’s a pressure defender, and anytime a ball handler puts the ball in front of her, there’s a good chance that’s a turnover. On the offensive end of the floor, she can shoot it when she gets some time and space and is a willing driver if she sees a lane. You won’t see her trying to put her defender in a blender or anything. She’s a kid who’ll look to make the right play with the ball instead of trying to make something out of nothing, which leads to solid team offense.
The Milwaukee Academy of Science guard will have to be a kid who ends up as a shooter who can score away from the ball. Her spot-up shooting looks excellent. However, as teams begin putting her on the scouting report, I’m eager to see how she finds space in defenses. I believe that she’s talented enough to figure out where to find her shots. There is plenty of room to grow from building her offensive game around her ability to make shots with volume.
