Broad Run won big over Loudoun County on Tuesday, and Senior Guard Alex Gonzalez had a great game. I watched Alex play for CYA Shock over the summer a few times, and she was really impressive. Alex is a good driver and a great spot-up shooter. She is also an active defender and a good athlete. Alex showed all these things in Broad Run’s win, and she finished with 22 points to lead all scorers.

In a low-scoring and close game, Oakton beat Madison in the Concorde District Semifinal. Finley Tarr Finley Tarr 5’6″ | PG Oakton | 2024 State VA provided a lot of offense in big moments for Oakton. Finley did a tremendous job as a driver, and in a game where points were hard to come by, her ability to get to the rim was the most significant difference in the offenses. Finley’s go-ahead layup with 42 seconds left was also one of the most significant moments of the game. She also made some nice passes out of her drives, and she was the player of this game.
As good a team as Centreville is, they do not play with size. Alex Wilson took advantage of that in Chantilly’s Semifinal upset over Centreville. Alex used her size inside, punishing Centreville in the second half of this game. Chantilly was behind by double digits at one point in this game, and this was about as impressive a win as I’ve seen all week. Alex was the player of this game, finishing with 18 points.
Another player who impressed me for Chantlly was Alivia Tarry Alivia Tarry 5’7″ | PG Chantilly | 2026 State VA . Alivia facilitates this offense well and is composed for a point guard who’s only a Sophomore. She knocked down some jump shots in this game and was good down the stretch.
Highlights
Addie Hafer Addie Hafer 5’5″ | SG Stone Bridge | 2024 State VA has been on an absolute tear recently, and she counted that in Stone Bridge’s win over Riverside. Addie’s three-point shooting over the last few weeks has been phenomenal, and that didn’t change on Wednesday. She finished with 21 points and a handful of threes. Addie sometimes operates as another ball handler and excels as a spot-up shooter. After losing to them in their last matchup, Stone Bridge’s semifinal win at Riverside was a nice win, and Addie led the way.
Jayla Alford
Jayla Alford
It always feels like West Potomac gets a significant contribution from someone different each game. Jayla Alford came up huge in West Potomac’s win against South County. Jayla is a good athlete and does much of her best work offensively in the paint. She is a good roller and an excellent driver. She is a great rebounder and does well on the offensive glass. Jayla did all these things in a 3-point Semifinal win. She finished with 17 points in this game, leading all scorers.
