The Prep Division of the Phhacility Classic had plenty of high school talent and future collegiate players to view. The highlight of this division was that I got a chance to see some of the stars of the future in Hoop Code National 14U Squad. This team was loaded from top to bottom and more than held their own, going 3-1.

Here, I take a look at some of the Hoop Code standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='797310' first='Cherri' last='Hatter'] 2028 Hoop Code

Cherri is a shifty guard who can easily get by the defender. She has a very good hesitation dribble that freezes defenders, especially in the open court. She's a lefty with a good touch and displays a variety of moves to get her shots off. She is one of the top incoming freshmen in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='797280' first='Avery' last='Olson'] 2028 Hoop Code

Olson is a nice-looking prospect with good size. She wasn't afraid to bang with the older players and knew how to use her body to create separation. On defense, she contests shots and is a good rebounder.

[player_tooltip player_id='852314' first='Claire' last='Carnal'] 2028 Hoop Code

Claire is a guard with an IQ well beyond her age. She anticipates where her teammates will be when passing and never forces the action. Her shooting range is well behind the three-point line, and you can't give her too much room, or she'll let it fly. She's possibly the top shooter in the 2028 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='797309' first='Amaya' last='Rodgers'] 2028 Hoop Code

Rodgers is a versatile forward who does a little of everything. She is a volume rebounder who seeks out the ball instead of just rebounding in her area. On offense, she worked inside but also showed the ability to step out and shoot perimeter shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='852723' first='Kolbi' last='Brooks'] 2029 Hoop Code

Kolbi's game is all about smoothness, and she displayed that when playing against older players. She handles it effortlessly and has very good court vision as a passer. When exploding off the dribble, she turned the corner quickly, and it usually resulted in a bucket for herself or for one of her teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='852321' first='Jaiyana' last='Bogan-Jacobs'] 2029 Hoop Code

Jai was one of my favorite players from this event. Every time I see her play, I see a new aspect of her game. On offense, she attacked the rim very hard, getting into the body of defenders. On defense, she might have been the best on-ball defender in a division with D1 talent. She attacked the ball handlers consistently, never letting up. She could be one of the top 2029 prospects in the country.
