Rossini continues to captivate me with her ability to “make those around her better” and as I have stated countless times, that’s when you go from being good to great. She’s a prototype point guard that understands how to control the tempo and run her team yet her directing traffic better than a crossing guard and making pinpoint passes in traffic, at times from 30 feet away were on display. She also showed her mid to long-range scoring ability as they move on to the next round
Campbell will make a big debut on the Top 100 and watching the first few minutes of the opening quarter sold me before I used my search bars and found nothing on her. I can’t write what I haven’t seen, Texas is a big state yet I saw her and she played BIG so there it is. She grabbed my attention initially by going coast to coast and score, then she attacked and finished after contact in the set. She’s heady, understands positioning and went after the ball off the rim, yet her court vision was also impressive. To light the candle for me, she showed the catch and shoot from deep
Blair has looked more impressive each time I’ve caught her since the start of the season and what she did last night solidified her being one of the top freshman in the country. Here’s the deal, I haven’t seen all of them but I’m not a novice and I know where the bar has been set so as she dazzled defenders with her ballhandling to attack, her acrobatic finishes after contact were very nice. She showed the HEZ, then exploded, yet her pull-up jumper was hard to contain and when she wanted the ball down the stretch and delivered from the baseline and drop the winning bucket, that JUST DID IT for me, pun intended
Alexander has been on a tear and I mentioned last week she is one of the most improved players in the state after transforming from a back to the basket player early in her career. She’s long and athletic and she stands over the magic number yet the magic down the stretch was the number of 3 pointers she dropped to tie the game. Pressure was irrelevant, she also did a good job defending as well as rebounding and since she altered shots with her outstretched arms, she closes out her high school career with a bang as she and twin sister Kennidi will be doing damage for Tulsa
Cooper showed she was a HOOPER years ago and watching her progression on the court over the years has been a joy. She had a solid game to close out this chapter of her basketball career yet her continuously adding to her game to go along with her standing above that magic number which is 6’0 and being long and athletic showed last night. She scored around the basket strongly, yet dropping it from mid to long-range was exciting for me as she has truly added that. She also did a good job defending as well as rebounding on both ends
