Both a capable ball handler and shotmaker off the bounce, there are few guards in the state with her shotmaking off the bounce. Another facet of Sabus’ impact comes from her willingness to play under a fast paced environment, effective launching outlets or if in position, the receiver of such transition passes.
Farbes brings a bit of flare while handling the ball, bringing advanced footwork to the table. A dependable ball handler and shotmaker from tough angles, she is an impressive shotmaker under duress. Farbes can break down opponents off the bounce with an array of combo moves, always a threat with the ball.
Contreraz has brought immense value to one of the state’s most consistent playoff teams within 4A. Elite scoring from along the perimeter, the guard brings deep range off the catch or while stepping into the shot as a trailer. She remains one of the better facilitators in the class, leveraging her shooting gravity to open up driving lanes and set up teammates for success.
Price remains a valuable downhill scorer and complementary facilitator among backcourt positions. She has been apart of this group through last year’s crucial state title victory, adding value as another playmaker who is not afraid to score or share the ball.
Johnson has provided complementary shotmaking for one of the state’s top programs, active along the perimeter. It is no easy task being in the rotation for arguably the top team in the state, although there is no doubt that group has benefitted from her floor spacing. When given the opportunity, Johnson can handle the ball under pressure, capable of setting up the halfcourt offense.
Baker has been consistent as a complementary scoring threat with ThunderRidge, effective contributing threes off the catch or attacking the rim. A dependable decision maker, Baker has found ways to decipher the defense to attack driving lanes, often utilizing counter moves in the paint to evade the defense. Her strong frame and dependable footwork allows her to be an unpredictable opponent to defend around the rim.
White brings high energy defense from the help side or at the point of attack, a unique defensive option among the state’s backcourt prospects.
Salveson is a well rounded scoring guard, efficient on all three levels. Both a capable ball handler and shotmaker under pressure, the guard has been a key contributor with St. Marys.
Valdez has been dependable bringing up the ball both to set up the offense or break a press. She remains a competitive backcourt defender, with quick hands and assertive positioning to mess with opponents.
One of the more efficient perimeter shooters on the state’s top 4A program, Althshuler has built up a reputable resume throughout her recent two seasons. Although taking the majority of attempts from far out, the guard can make opponents pay while attacking downhill. Effective attacking the closeout for finishes at the rim or through a self-created pull-up jumper just below the free throw line, the guard remains a valuable asset.
