Incarnate Word outlasts John Burroughs in a rematch.

These two teams see each other often. They've now met in two separate tournament championship games and both followed a similar game flow. Burroughs jumped out to early leads in both, a trend going back to last season when they faced off at the Bombers house. IWA then has a strong 3rd quarter, that trend remains the same. In the end, Incarnate is often able to hold off a late 4th quarter run to win. These statements continue to hold true on Saturday at the Webster Winter Challenge. [player_tooltip player_id='194395' first='Kaylynn' last='Janes'] was a standout senior with her strong three point shooting. For John Burroughs it was [player_tooltip player_id='351820' first='Moriyah' last='Douglass'] who added dynamic play with her pass, dribble, shoot skill-set. An outstanding championship game overall.

Staley dominates Liberty North.

Liberty North entered this game ranked 2nd in the state by MBCA. They were the presumed favorites trying. Staley had different plans, however, winning 66-47 in dominant fashion. Their all-around attack proved to be too much. Staley has quick guards who kept the game at their pace and relied on effective frontcourt play when they needed a bucket. This combination paired with stout defense was what led to such a result. A statement game for girls basketball in the Kansas City region. As for Liberty North it was [player_tooltip player_id='299456' first='Kennedy' last='Herrig'] and [player_tooltip player_id='648580' first='Ava' last='Levings'] who led the way scoring in double figures.
