John Burroughs outlasts Lift for Life.

John Burroughs won the game but both teams looked great. Lift for Life is a very young team and their guards impressed, facing tons of pressure. [player_tooltip player_id='777605' first='Amaya' last='Manuel'] continues to prove that she's a major talent in the 2027 class not just locally, but nationally. She scored 24 points in the contest and they were from all over the floor. She's such a gifted talent. For Burroughs they continued to have a balanced approach. It's a team that can have a new leading scorer each game during a busy week. On this day they had 3 players reach double figures. Both squads figure to be state championship contenders in their respective classes. This was an excellent Queen of Hearts championship game.

New MBCA Poll drops.

The new rankings have been released and there's a number of key points to address. First, Staley has taken over the 2nd spot in Class 6 which we predicted following their big win vs. Liberty North. This is a young and dangerous team who are looking to win it all both now and into the future. Class 5 also saw some movement with John Burroughs taking the top spot over Lutheran St. Charles. This was an expected move with a big game between the two schools coming on Wednesday. In Class 4 we see Doniphan continuing to gain ground in terms of points. They appear to be the favorite with Lift for Life not far behind. Outside of these classes there wasn't much movement.

Kickapoo dominates Glendale in a highlighted matchup.

This was a game we marked as one to watch and it turned out to be a 15 point win for Kickapoo. A convincing win that fully establishes them as the best program in Springfield at the moment. Kickapoo sits at 22-1 on the season.
