Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
This past Varsity season, Ayla Roth Ayla Roth 5’10” | CG Milford | 2025 State NE of Milford High School put together a year to remember because of her production with the basketball in her possession. Roth was a main contributor for her Eagles team every time that she took the floor in one way or another, usually scoring or facilitating to the open teammates around her throughout their offense. Defensively, she stuck to her matchup like glue and she never gave up any meaningful space while going toward the rim. I’m interested how she is going to take this momentum from the past few months and channel it moving forward. If she can do that efficiently, while staying true to her play-style then I wouldn’t be surprised if she put up eye opening numbers moving forward into her Senior season at Milford.
Highlights
It may be a little dramatic to say but Tarryn Godsey Tarryn Godsey 5’11” | PF Nebraska City | 2025 State NE is the type of player where you can almost expect her to average a Double-Double at the Varsity level in the categories of Scoring & Rebounding. Godsey has great size at 6’0, she is coordinated, and she understands the strategic part of the game. She is very good at doing her work early on in possessions, while sealing off her matchup on almost every play underneath the basket. She is at her best when her teammates set her up for success but she is good enough to create her own shot most of the time. When a double team comes, she is fantastic at finding an open teammate either cutting or spotting up at the perimeter. On defense, I could argue that she is just as much of a factor. She impacts others shot attempts because of her mixture of size and physicality on every play, while being pretty disciplined in her actions. I’m not sure the interest that Godsey has from the collegiate level but she is someone that could step in and help a program right away, solely based on her work alone, not to mention skill.
Amelia Dieckman Amelia Dieckman 6’1″ | PF Concordia | 2025 State NE is a prospect with size, a high motor, coordination in the post, and a soft touch. Dieckman was a top rebounder throughout the State of Nebraska this past season, regardless of age level or Class. On any given night, you can almost expect 8-10 rebounds out of Dieckman, along with a handful of positive stats like points in the paint or assists whenever the opposing team tries to double-team her near the basket. Something that you can’t deny when you are scouting a player is production. It speaks for itself and that’s the situation we have unfolding in front of us. I’m sure that next Winter, she is going to be even more of a factor in her team’s success. She really came into her own this year and I can’t wait to see how she can build on that foundation in the near future.
Kiara Baptiste Kiara Baptiste 5’9″ | SG Omaha Central | 2025 State NE demonstrated patient, a fundamental shooting stroke, and a calm attitude whenever she finds herself on the hardwood. This Winter with her Omaha Central Eagles team, Baptiste played her role and made the most of her opportunities. She wasn’t a player that forced any action or came onto the floor and started jacking up bad shot attempts, instead she always made the right play and if she wasn’t sure, she would pass it back out and play it safe. Baptiste has better than average size for a Shooting Guard at 5’9 with a quick first step while attacking the paint. If she can continue to expand her game and work on the little things, I’m sure she is going to continue on producing next Winter for the Eagles. Within a program that is going to have to find a new identity, there is going to be a lot of opportunity. If she can make the most of it, I’m sure we will be talking about her and her performances on a consistent basis during the 2024-2025 season but we will have to wait and see.
I had the opportunity to watch Aniyah Hicks-Robinson Aniyah Hicks-Robinson 5’4″ | PG Lincoln | 2025 State NE compete at a Showcase prior to this High School season and she impressed me on a few different levels. First off, she plays with some edge. She doesn’t take no for an answer and she always seems like she is playing “angry”. Second, she is skilled. She can handle her 1v1 matchups a majority of the time with ease, always looking to attack her defenders weaknesses. Lastly, she is the type of player that wants to cause havoc. Any chance she had, she was picking her opponent up in the full court, looking to cause a turnover in some shape or form. For her Junior High School season, I saw a lot more of everything I just name. She played with a killer instinct and most of the time, it worked out successfully for her because of it. Hicks-Robinson might not be the tallest individual on the court but her game is big and always on full display. That’s something that I think we can all respect from an outside point-of-view.
