Makaylee Smith
Makaylee Smith
Smith is a “long and athletic” guard which falls into one of the profiles I love to evaluate yet her intangibles immediately stood out because of her UPS and desire to go AFTA the ball off the rim. She did a good job defending “on the ball” and showed she could take the defender off the dribble and score
Lauryn Jefferson
Lauryn Jefferson
Jefferson showed me some impressive upside that will have her “Movin On Up” because she is “long and athletic” which is the base plus she had a nice drop step to go along with the “hands and footwork” I love to see which gets her the #THROWBACK hashtag. She also hit the boards and played solid defense
Ta’Lieya Hanes
Ta’Lieya Hanes
Hanes used a deceptive first step to attack the basket and score yet her ability to dish while attacking was nice, so was her court vision in the set as well as in transition. She also hit the boards on both ends, did a good job of “playing within herself” and showed she could get hers “in the flow” which will come in handy
Kamya Salton
Kamya Salton
Salton also showed good upside as she comprehends the simple things that will be huge in the long run, like positioning around the basket to get rebounds, which she did on both ends. She also moved fluidly and defended both in and outside the paint yet her using her frame around the basket was another plus
Natalie Willis
Natalie Willis
Willis showed me a glimpse of “whatcha talking about” as in me and her “step back” is what got her the cover. I have another hashtag I’ve been using forever, #sizedontmatter because she can play and watching her drop it from mid to long range was nice yet she kept the defender guaessing because she also scored off the dribble
Ava Howard
Ava Howard
Howard did several things I love seeing like rebounding on both ends, understanding how to get the outlet going and running the floor. She also did a good job defending and showing nice lateral movement yet one of the main things that just grabs me is watching players play the passing lane which she did several times
Tiana Candee
Tiana Candee
Candee is already showing her game will be sweet, yeah she’s “long and athletic” and that is still the base yet her timing to block shots stood out, she also altered some shots but her handling the ball after rebounding as well as in the set to attack the basket stood out, along with her “hands and footwork” around the basket
