The most likely candidate for 2A state player of the year, Runon Muroya Runon Muroya 5’8″ | PG Western Christian | 2026 State OR continued to dazzle at the state tournament, just as she has done as season long. With their lone loss to Bandon early in the year, she helped her Western Christian squad get revenge, beating Bandon to win the state title, finishing with a 30-1 record on the year. Second in total scoring, Muroya averaged 19.3 points per game while knocking down the most three-pointers by far on the weekend with 13 total. She shot an incredible 90% from the free throw line, and Muroya led all players in assists in the tournament, averaging 3.0 per game. Only a sophomore, Muroya is a name to know in Oregon high school basketball for the next few years.
Although her Oakridge team came in as the #10-seeded team in the tournament, Sadie Snyder Sadie Snyder 5’8″ | PG Oakridge | 2024 State OR and the Warriors were a team that nobody wanted to match up against. Falling in their first game to Bandon, Oakridge won their next two, cruising to a fourth-place finish in the state. Snyder led all players in scoring in the tournament, averaging an impressive 22.0 points per game. She also led the way in steals with 4.7 per game, and was amongst the leaders in blocked shots as well with 1.0 per game. In the 4th-6th game against Enterprise, Snyder put up a stat-line of 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, and 4 assists, which is the kind of performance that Snyder has made her signature in her outstanding four-year career.

Ariana Miller
Senior Ariana Miller had an outstanding weekend in Pendleton, capping off her career by leading her team to the third-place trophy. Miller was one of the leaders in nearly all statistical categories, doing it all for her team to find success. She nearly averaged a double-double with 15.0 points per game and 9.7 rebounds per game, to go along with 2.3 assists and 2.3 steals per game. Miller was one of the best of the best when it came to crashing the offensive glass, coming up with an excellent 5.0 offensive boards per game. She had a dominant performance to bring home third-place and to finish off her career, going for 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists.
Another name to know for the coming years, sophomore Clara Persons Clara Persons CG Regis | 2026 State OR finished off the first half of her career in style in Pendleton. She led her Regis Rams to 5th-place in the state after an impressive season for the team. Persons had a particularly impressive opening game of the tournament, in which the Rams won a close one over Stanfield in overtime. She scored nearly half of her team’s total, finishing with 20 points, 5 steals, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists on the evening. Persons had an impressive weekend and showed just how bright of a future she has over the next two years of her career with the Rams.
One of the best players in the state over the past four years, Katelyn Senn Katelyn Senn 5’8″ | CG Bandon | 2024 State OR had an incredible senior season that culminated in an impressive state tournament. She led the Tigers to 27-3 season and a second-place finish, narrowly losing to Western Christian by five in the championship game. Senn averaged 14.0 points per game on nearly 43% shooting from the field. She was second in steals, averaging 4.3 steals per game to go along with 2.3 assists per game. She saved some of her most impressive performances for last, putting up 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 steals, and 5 assists in the semifinal win over Regis and followed that up with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals in the state championship against Western Christian. Senn had a career for the ages and will hopefully be a player we see at the next level.
