In a massive 71-48 win over St. Helens, Campos put up a monster double-double, finishing with 30 points and 13 rebounds. This is after averaging an incredible 15.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, 4.2 steals, and 4.2 assists per game, and earning co-player of the year in the Skyline Conference. A potential contender for 4A state player of the year, watch out for more big-time performances like this out of Campos in Forest Grove this weekend.
Having just won Tri-Valley Conference player of the year and playing an impressive opening round game, Rylan Davis Rylan Davis 5’4″ | CG Madras | 2024 State OR is another player bound to have a huge weekend in Forest Grove. She and the White Buffaloes had a dominant opening round win at home against Seaside, taking it 73-42. In the win, Davis led her team in both points and rebounds with a double-double of 22 points. The senior is in her fourth consecutive tournament, and is hungry to make a deep run in her final crack at it. Their opening round matchup with Henley will be one of the best games of the tournament.

On February 16 at home, Dianara Pena knocked down a three at the buzzer to pull the Pelicans to a 65-63 win over Henley and a piece of the Skyline Conference title, handing the Hornets only their second loss of the season. The senior guard has been a leader for Klamath Union all season, leading them to their first final eight appearance in over 30 years. In their opening round win against a tough Pendleton team, Pena led the way with 20 points. The combination of her length, skill, and athleticism makes Pena a serious threat in all areas of the game, which helped earn her co-player of the year in the Skyline Conference.

Only a freshman, Kathryn Samek Kathryn Samek SG Stayton | 2027 OR had a breakout game in the opening round of the 4A state tournament, showing everyone what a promising future she has over the next four years. The 5’10 wing led the Eagles with 16 points in the road win over Marshfield to punch their ticket to the final eight. Although not the typical leading scorer for Stayton, Samek will need to make big contributions like this on the offensive end in addition to playing her excellent defense that has helped Stayton to become the top defense in 4A, allowing their opponents less than 28 points per game.
Incredibly, three teams from the Oregon West Conference have reached the final eight, including the conference champs, the Philomath Warriors. Having played such a challenging conference schedule, Philomath will be ready to come out and compete in Forest Grove, and through that difficult schedule, Anneka Steen Anneka Steen 5’11” | SF Philomath | 2025 State OR has been one of the best for the Warriors. Steen does it all, averaging 9.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 2.6 assists in conference, and she exceeded this in their tight 53-52 opening round win against Baker. She went for 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 assists in the big win. Expect big things from the junior forward in Forest Grove.
