Continue ReadingHere are some of our takeaways from Day one in Tulare, watching the girls high school division that is fed from the CIF Central Division players, we rarely get up to this part of town, but we are gonna make this an annual event we cover to get the girls from this area some more exposure. We had some of girls fill out the Player Profile on our site and added some names to assist with these girls getting some looks and those worthy of being added to the Rankings Addition this coming April 2024.
2024, 5’8, PF, Sierra Calantas Sierra Calantas 5’7″ | PF Mission Oak | 2024 CA , Mission Oak HS – Nice size body and knows how to use it, she posted up in the paint and sealed her opponent as was able to score in the paint with some consistency. She could score over both shoulders and could also hit the short corner shot from both sides of the court. She had a nice form on her shot and made things in the paint look easy. Ran the floor well and was able to finish in transition for easy buckets off the pass.
Highlights
2024, 5’10, PF, Isabella Fernandez, Mission Oak HS – Big body forward that has a nice body type, she is long and knows how to use her body in the paint. She can also step out and shoot the three ball with a nice high arching stroke on her form. She was a pretty good rebounder and was able to rangel up a few offensive boards with put backs in the paint. She used her size to her advantage, coaches can use a big body like this kid at th next level.

2025, 5’3, SG, Miranda Mavarez, Tulare Western HS – small scrappy guard that can get up and down the floor and get some buckets, is a lefty and uses both hands, attacks the rim with no fear and steps thru people on the court to get her shot off. She had alot of tenacity on the floor and made sure her presence was known out there, she got loose balls and turned them into layups a few time we watched.
Jocelynn Melendez

2024, 5’6, PG, Jocelynn Melendez, Tulare Union HS – aggressive guard with nice handle, keeps her head up and is not afraid to attack the rim. Is a lead guard that knows how to call the plays on the floor and is a willing defender on the floor. She made some nice shots from the outside, but she loved to attack the paint and make things happen in the game. She stepped up and made some tough shots for her team to keep them competing in the games.
MacKenzie Walker
MacKenzie Walker
2029, 5’5, SG, Makenzie Walker, Wilson Middle School – Nice size guard that can play the post and handle the ball, can score and rebound in the paint and can run the floor. Has a decent shot from the midrange area on the floor with a nice form. She showed she is developing and learning how to play the game with a decent IQ, she is aggressive on the floor and made plays for her team.
Chrisawn Russo

2029, 5’4, SF/SG, Chrisawn Russo – lanky forward type that can handle the ball and can score it in the paint and midrange. Runs the floor well and will rebound and putback. She also will push the break and make good passes to her teammates for easy scores. She is a playmaker for her team right now and she can get them a bucket if needed in tough situations when they need a response.
Emily Toledo

2028, 5’1, PG, Emily Toledo – small scrappy guard that can defend and shoot the ball, she does a good job at the point guard spot and gets the ball to teammates for easy scores. Contains well on defense and will get to the basket and score layups off the transition. Knocks down three pointers from the wing with a nice form on her shot.
Sydney Frank
Sydney Frank
2029, 5’2, SF, Sydney Frank – small guard that plays with some aggression and can handle the ball and run the offense. Runs the floor well and makes good passes to teammates. We liked how she handled the pressure on the floor and did not turnover the ball much, she was aggressive to the rim and always had her head up to see open teammates.
