Here is a look at six prospects that played well in Fort Scott’s victory over the Indians.
Keegan Yarick Keegan Yarick 5'8" | SG Fort Scott | 2024 State KS , 5’8”, SG, Fort Scott, ‘24
Yarick has major bounce in her game and enjoys crashing the boards. She can score off jumpers or by utilizing the dribble drive. Yarick shot lights-out in the third quarter and broke open a close game. She has a smooth jump shot and does not hesitate to shoot when she sees daylight. She recorded the first double-double of the tournament with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Fort Scott senior left her pawprints all over the game by adding three assists and three steals to her game totals. Yarick is committed to playing college ball for the Barton Cougars.
Allie Brown Allie Brown 5'4" | SG Ft. Scott | 2025 State KS , 5’4”, GG, Fort Scott, ‘25
Brown is a talented pint-sized combo guard who reminds me of Spud Webb. She runs an efficient offense for Fort Scott when at the point and can drop buckets when playing the two. Brown plays salty man-to-man defense. She had a tough match-up against taller Clearwater guards, but she held her own and forced Clearwater’s leading scorer to drive. She did a nice job playing at the top of Fort Scott’s zone defense when the Tigers switched to it. The Fort Scott junior filled up her stat sheet with 10 points, four rebounds, three assists, and two steals and hit one of the best stop-and-pop jumpers I have seen all season.
Kylee Comstock, 5’11”, SF, Fort Scott, ‘25
Comstock has a nice reach and moves well. She will fight for rebounds and play solid defense. In the paint, she does a quality job of drawing contact and then making the other team pay for fouling her. She shot an impressive 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Comstock finished with 13 points, four rebounds, three steals, and three blocked shots.
Elizabeth Tjaden Elizabeth Tjaden 5'9" | SG Clearwater | 2024 State KS , 5’9”, SG, Clearwater, ’24
I have seen Tjaden play in a summer camp, in summer league action, but this was my first time seeing her play an actual game. The future Emporia State Hornet did not disappoint. She has never seen a defender she was unwilling to drive against. She forced a couple of shots and fell off her shot a couple of times, but she still lit the lamp in Clearwater’s victory. Tjaden had a team-high 20 points shooting 6-of-18 from the field, and 5-for-7 from the free-throw line.
Allison Clevenger Allison Clevenger 6'0" | PF Clearwater | 2024 State KS , 6’1”, PF, Clearwater, ‘24
For those coaches still looking for a long-post player, call up the coaching staff at Clearwater and make a run at Clevenger. She is super long and knows how to gain leverage in the paint. She would be perfect for a NAIA program that would make her commit to bulking up. I would not hesitate to evaluate her as a third or fourth frontcourt coming right out of school. She finished with seven points and seven rebounds in her final high school game.
Justine Berlin Justine Berlin 5'11" | PF Clearwater | 2026 State KS , 5’11”, PF, Clearwater, ‘26
Berlin may have the highest ceiling of any athlete on the Indians’ roster. She is a DII-level talent for sure and could play for a smaller Division I program. She has a composed game and does a nice job of balancing when to look to score and when to dish it. She was a difference-maker on defense as the Tigers had almost no inside scoring and were forced to score from deep. Her final stat line included three rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.
