A few of Wednesday’s upset winners included: Northville, Canton, Haslett, Utica, and Bay City Western. Here are a few prospects whose impressive performances helped their teams earn an upset victory.
Miranda Link Miranda Link PG Northville | 2024 State MI came up huge on the offensive boards for Northville and was able to finish many shots inside the paint. She helped handle the ball under pressure as a guard and created extra possessions for her team to help secure the upset.
Nikki Grech Nikki Grech 5’9″ | SG Northville | 2024 State MI needed to have a big night for the Mustangs to win and that’s exactly what she did on Wednesday. Nikki drilled consecutive 3’s from the corner and wing; she took a key charge on defense as well. She drove downhill and finished a pretty left-handed layup off the glass and made contested floaters in the paint. Nikki performed at a high level when her team needed it the most.
Marissa Cribari Marissa Cribari 5’7″ | SG Canton | 2024 State MI helped the Chiefs upset Salem Wednesday with a strong performance on both sides of the court. She chipped in 7 points in the first with a couple quick drives to the basket and knocked down a smooth 3 from the corner. Marissa came up big for Canton with 14 points.
Justice Tramble Justice Tramble 6’0″ | PF Canton | 2024 State MI imposed her will in the paint on Wednesday to help her team secure the victory over rival Salem. She led the Chiefs with 21 points and scored on a smooth face up drive from the high post. Justice drove to the basket and earned free throws, which she converted. Her hard work on the boards and inside scoring were key to Canton advancing to the district finals.

Jadelyn Trotter (2024, G) sealed the upset victory for Haslett in the closing seconds of overtime Wednesday. Jadelyn started the game with a block, contested baseline finish, and knocked down a corner 3. She created separation to catch the sideline inbounds pass at the wing, ripped by her defender, and buried a contested floater in the paint for the overtime win. The Vikings will play Williamston in the district finals Friday.
