NHBCO First Team Division I All-State Selections

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Earlier in March, the New Hampshire Basketball Coaches Organization released its all-state selections for all four divisions of high school girls basketball this season. We'll be talking about the First Team selections across the board, beginning with Division I.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='269442' first='Elizabeth' last='Lavoie'] - Pinkerton (2024)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Lavoie not only received 1st team all-state honors, but she was also named the Division I Player of the Year by the NHBCO. Why not wait until her senior season to arguably have her best season as she averaged nearly 20 points a game across 18 regular season games. Lavoie was making things happen, a bonafide playmaker in every sense of the word and a deserving POY recipient.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='361079' first='Lana' last='McCarthy'] - Bedford (2024)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A surefire Player of the Year candidate, McCarthy was superb down low for Bedford, a double-double machine with not just size, but great range for a big. At 6-4, she can shoot with the best of them, more of an advantage than anything to have that higher release point on her shot. She has been incredibly impressive her entire career and will only continue to do so at Purdue next year.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='282804' first='Kate' last='Allard'] - Bedford (2025)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Allard helped bring home a state title to Bedford as a junior, and she's far from done when it comes to things left to accomplish in her high school career. This 1st team selection is just adding to the trophy case, which is getting more crowded by the year. Really solid guard that can command the floor and can run the point. Plays beyond her years and has shown plenty of poise and maturity on the court.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Samantha Sullivan - Londonderry (2026)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sullivan is yet another player who's going to have some years left ahead of her to accomplish even more in high school, and has already done so much thus far. She's a guard who defends as a big, but can shoot the lights out of the gym. Already getting plenty of attention from Division I programs, Sullivan has showcased a strong interior game, excellent defensive skills and a drive to do whatever it takes to win.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='393269' first='Maggie' last='Sasso'] - Goffstown (2024)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>No. 1 for Goffstown has been the number one piece for the program over the past few seasons, punctuated by a stellar senior campaign. Sasso unfortunately didn't get her shot at the playoffs, but averaging just over 19 points a game in the regular season, she made her mark and made her presence felt. Ending this season as a member of the 1000 point club, Sasso elevated herself to the next level as an offensive juggernaut.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">[player_tooltip player_id='282806' first='Avery' last='Romps'] - Portsmouth (2024)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We end this with yet another senior leader in Portsmouth guard [player_tooltip player_id='282806' first='Avery' last='Romps'], who put together a stellar season for the Clippers, who made a deep playoff run. Romps led the team in scoring, adding in a few 20-point performances into the mix. She was a steady presence on the floor, starting every game and having quite the impact in all of them. Her production and leadership will be hard to replace going into next season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
