My VT Player of the Year, [player_tooltip player_id='579572' first='Hayden' last='Wilkins']. There aren't many who do as much while simultaneously sacrificing as much as Wilkins. She's a capable 20+ scorer any given night, and she exploded a few times throughout the year, but the personnel invited for a more spread attack and Hayden bought in as St. J's lead facilitator. She navigated ball pressure with ease, got players the ball in their hot-spots, and went into attack mode as a 3-level scorer when the situations presented themselves. Defensively adept, Hayden brought the pressure with disruption at the point of attack, heady rotations to jump passing lanes, and a keen sense of where to be for loose balls + boards. Top dog.

[player_tooltip player_id='518717' first='Anna' last='Moser'], 5'8 G - Rutland H.S. Class of 2026

It won't be long before Anna is a headliner whenever she comes into town. The sophomore got comfortable this year in her role as the PG, making everything go for this RHS team. Moser's handle is sharp and agile, able to handle pressure with ease and break down defenders with a creative and sharp handle well to generate advantages. Moser's certified herself as a serious threat from deep, showing deep range on her jumper, and she's someone who'll make plentiful plays out of the 2nd layer. And the defensive prowess is all there. She takes on every team's best guard and is anticipatory, agile, and most of all competitive. Anna's skill is tremendous and growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='649629' first='Caitlyn' last='Davison'], 5'9 G - Hazen Union H.S. Class of 2024: D3 Player of the Year

With Davison you have a PG who understands the intricacies of the game. Caitlyn has situational awareness, understanding when to go at her matchup to get downhill and make plays, when to push in transition vs set up, and who to get the rock to. She has the bag to pick apart different coverages and defenses along with the mentality to make the right play. Her physical slashing reaps FTs, the 3-ball is sighted in, and the facilitation + distribution is dialed. Defensively, Caitlyn's a tough on-ball defender with her footwork and strong frame, plus, she's a wise anticipator + disruptor away from the ball. 1,000+ points and D3s best hooper.

[player_tooltip player_id='446538' first='Samara' last='Ashooh'], 6'0 F - Champlain Valley Union H.S. Class of 2024

The most skilled and high-IQ forward in VT is [player_tooltip player_id='446538' first='Samara' last='Ashooh']. Samara's impact is at times subtle, one of those players who can go for a quiet 15-10. She gets it done with her work on the blocks, elbows, and in the short corners. Her scoring is often done at the rim off of savvy footwork, quick finishes off the catch, or 2nd chance points. But she's a sound shooter and her range stretches to 3, or she can work a bit as a facilitator from the post with her court vision. Defensively aware, Ashooh understands how to prevent post touches, bother shots with timing and length, plus clear the boards and run the floor. The Smith College commit has game.

[player_tooltip player_id='450194' first='Bree' last='McDonald'], 5'7 G - Burlington H.S. Class of 2025

It's a thing of beauty to watch McDonald go to work. Bree's sense of timing + space is excellent, and it's most obvious with her exquisite handle as she navigates ball pressure. She breaks pressure with ease and can snake through multiple defenders, able to dice the defense up and make plays in the open court and within the 2nd layer. She's a 3-level scoring PG who can get a bucket anywhere on the court and will make the dish when the defense collapses on her. Defensively she has the chops to lock in on the ball and strip handlers with her active hands, or she'll disrupt as she jumps passes. Simply put, one of VTs best scorers.
