Continue ReadingI’ll call her a guard for simplicity’s sake, but the kid is really diverse. She led CAK in scoring this year at 16 points per game, and it often felt like she was the best player on the floor for them. She just has that “it” factor which allows her to impact all areas of the game. She was getting PT of the bench as an 8th grader, and now averaged 16 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and nearly a block a game for the state runner up. She stands at 5’10 but the wingspan of 6’1 (that’s a guess). She plays so much bigger than she is, is tough, battles, and she’s about to make a name for herself as one of the premier guards in the state, regardless of class.
Highlights
If you follow closely, she is no suprise. She’s a 5’7 PG that can do a big of everything. Already a prolific scorer at 19 points a game, but also a head PG that knows how to get her teammates involved. Great at changing levels and speeds to get into the paint. Doesn’t have overwhelming athleticism, but her feel and instincts still allow her to get to her spots. Developing a pull-up jumper off the dribble that is going to be tough. Already a deadly stand still shooter when left open. She’ll be known as of the best PGs in the state next year.
Gosh I like watching this kid play! Watch these highlights:
https://www.hudl.com/video/3/20999210/65a0074464e05f0364dad5a3rnShe has one of the quickest releases I’ve seen, with elite footwork. She only needs a blink of an eye to get her 3 off, and has supreme confidence. Already a kid that can put up 18-22 points on any night, with the upside of being a 25 point per game kid. Also contributes defensively and on the glass. Really well rounded game….and another kid that will soon be know as one of the best in the state.
Hayden Hill Hayden Hill 5’8″ | CG Grace Christian Academy (Knox) | 2027 State TN isn’t going to explode as one of the best players on the state, but I’ve got a feeling she’ll end of being of the best “role players” on one of the best teams in the state very soon. She was All-District as a freshman, and became supremely talentened at figuring out what her team needed in the moment–and that’s what she delivered. She averaged nearly 10 a game as a freshman, and impacted the glass and defensive end on a night to night basis.
Naleiya Withrow Walker
Naleiya Withrow Walker
Has all the tools to be one of the premier guards in the state. Among other honors, she was named District Freshman of the Year, and All Tournament 2nd team. Ultra quick with a lighting fast floater that use learning she can get to at will. Elite at getting her shoulders and hips past the defenders, hitting the paint, and making the next read–averaging almost 4 assists a game. I know the kid works hard, and once she adds the three ball to her game, the sky is the limit from an offensive standpoint.
She’s already a high level defender that keeps her girl in front, and wreaks havoc in passing lanes.
