It's grassroots time and there are few programs in VT that are as established as Lone Wolf Athletics. Year after year, a number of VT's best players combine forces and forge on to test themselves against tough competition across New England, New York, and out to the Midwest for Run 4 the Roses and the Nike Tournament of Champions.
With primary guards such as [player_tooltip player_id='405948' first='Cassie' last='Beste'], [player_tooltip player_id='496160' first='Macie' last='Stagner'], and [player_tooltip player_id='481355' first='Charlotte' last='Jasmin'] at the helm, LWA can throw a few different looks at you. Beste is a smooth southpaw with 3-level scoring and reliable playmaking, a product of her exemplary handle, shot-making, and reading of defensive tactics. Moreover, Cassie's off-ball activity showcases just how easy she can hurt you without the ball in her hands. Stagner has a similar on-ball ability. She's able to convert on all sorts of looks across the floor, feed teammates when the D is rotating, and organize the O. With Jasmin, the biggest difference is frame. Charlotte is 5'9 with a strong body, so she has some physicality to her around the rim, rebounds at a high rate, and can defend up. All that from Jasmin comes with good 3-point shooting, impressive court vision, and general savvy.

Supporting them on the perimeter is the ultra-athlete [player_tooltip player_id='645601' first='Sabine' last='Brueck'], Windsor guards [player_tooltip player_id='496193' first='Sophia' last='Rockwood'], [player_tooltip player_id='496099' first='Audrey' last='Rupp'], and [player_tooltip player_id='645786' first='Brianna' last='Barton'], along with St. Johnsbury teammates [player_tooltip player_id='645602' first='Cassidy' last='Kittredge'] and [player_tooltip player_id='592897' first='Anna' last='Ebert']. This balance here is exciting. There are three players here with impressive defensive ability; Brueck and Rupp can tango with the best opposing ballhandlers, using their agility and athleticism to bother. Sabine's length is considerable, always disrupting, and she rebounds at a high clip. Rupp is relentless, that constant presence next to you. Then Ebert is a 2/3 who relishes rugged matchups, able to guard up. Anna's physical, scrappy, collects 50/50s, and has no quit. Steady. Mix in the shooting that Rockwood, Brueck, and Kittredge provide and the connective playstyle of Barton, Rupp and Ebert and there's a well-oiled machine walking onto the floor. It's worth noting that Ebert's versatility shows itself in various ways, primarily her ability to plug-into different offensive roles. She facilitates well from the high-post, makes plays roaming the baseline vs zones, and has tough one-dribble takes to the cup.

The perimeter depth features plenty of ballhandling, shooting, and connectivity. Players like Brueck, Rockwood, and Rupp initiate the offense too, flowing seamlessly into off-ball and on-ball action.

Now the forwards. There are only two true forwards here with 6'2 [player_tooltip player_id='630319' first='Izzy' last='Simone'] playing as a 5 and 6'0 Sierra Derby fluctuating between the 4 and the 5. Simone's length and height is quickly noticed, able to alter shots around the rim and snatch boards. Plus, she has a decent shooting touch out to about 12-feet. Derby brings a bit more physicality, able to muscle around the interior, front, bother shots, rebound, and run. Sierra has a couple moves on the block and can knock down the catch-and-shoot jumper as well. I anticipate both will be featured in the pnr periodically and both have the court awareness + shot to make plays out of the pop or the short roll.
