The action started on Friday with a Showcase Game between Greenville based SC Lady Sixers and Team Compound Carn (FL).
SC Lady Sixers Win Opener:
The host SC Lady Sixers got strong performances from Elly Trickett Elly Trickett 5'8" | PF Riverside | 2025 State SC and Carmyn Claxton Carmyn Claxton 6'3" | C Legacy Early College | 2025 State SC down in the paint. Trickett fresh off a Class 4A State Championship at Riverside HS was finishing inside and around the cup. Elly has a great set of hands to catch anything thrown in her direction. She always makes herself available around the ball to make a play.
Claxton a left-handed forward played quite aggressive today with her play. She connected on some short corner jumpers at times when she wasn’t finishing at the foul line. Carmyn plays at Legacy Early College.
8th grader London Wakefield London Wakefield 5'8" | SF Berea M.S. | 2028 SC was nice surprise tonight for the SC Lady Sixers with her play. Wakefield attends Berea Middle School currently. She was able to get the ball into the paint and finish at the cup after onto her way of scoring 8 points tonight. London played the game with no fear and really played aggressive out front.
Team Compound Carn Represents Sunshine State:
The visitors from the Sunshine State received strong play from Jatia Markes Jatia Markes 5'6" | SF Bloomingdale | 2025 State FL and Niamaya Fraser. Markes attends Bloomingdale HS in Valrico, FL. The Lady Bulls finished this past season at (30-1). Jatia averaged 7.7 ppg this past season for the Lady Bulls. She originally started her high school at East Bay HS in Gibsonton.
Markes (2025) really has nice feel for the game and plays the game with a good demeanor. She connected on some mid-range jumpers here today on her way to scoring 17 points. Jatia showed no delay in her game when it came to jumping on the deck for a loose ball. Markes showcased a few bounce passes to teammates which in today’s game seems to be a lost art.
Fraser (2026) plays at Plant HS in Tampa. Niamaya really plays active in the passing lanes and constantly brings the energy to the floor. She was able to slash to the rack on several occasions today. She finished with 9 points in the loss to the SC Lady Sixers .
