Across the hoops hotbed that is the Bluegrass State, one of the symbols of that future is Lady Vision Elite 2028. Coached by David Fortner, the team competes in the NXT Puma circuit.
The travel team has already taken part in a couple of events – one in Kentucky and another in Ohio. Lady Vision Elite 2028 NXT will take a bit of time off before its next tournament which will be the Puma NXT Session 6 in Atlanta in early May.
Without further adieu, here is a look at the roster for Lady Vision Elite 2028 NXT.
Sa’Nya Barber – The young up-and-comer for Bardstown got her introduction to the high school game last season as an eighth grader. Barber was part of a 2023-24 Tigers rendition that finished with a 25-7 record this past season. She plays multiple sports – including track and field as well as soccer.
Callie Burnett – Speaking of rising talents that got a glimpse of winning basketball early in their careers, that was certainly the case with Burnett with the Colonels. Her team concluded the 2023-24 campaign with a mark of 26-8 plus a berth to the KHSAA tournament second round.
Chloe Fortner – The athletic plate is certainly a full one for this rising combo guard who particularly excels as a defender. She competes in track, cross country and volleyball alongside the strides she has made on the hardwood.
Symone Headspeth – Headspeth was part of a 2023-24 Elizabethtown rendition that concluded district play with a 7-1 record for the area crown. She is a proficient rebounder and that will become more prevalent as her career blossoms.
Anna Miller – Miller may be an eighth grader but she plays with the skillset of an upperclassman. Her vast skillset – which includes superb shooting ability – has McLean County once again on the rise.
Alexius Rinker – Rinker battled through an ankle injury that kept her sidelined for much of the 2023-24 season. In addition to what she can get accomplished on the basketball court, Rinker also competes in cross country.
Jaycelyn Nevitt – Only Meade County and Breckinridge County had a realistic chance at the district crown this year and Nevitt’s Green Waves pulled it off. She went from not even dressing at the varsity level to becoming a starter in high school athletics’ signature distinction.
Sophia Newby – While she primarily operates as a small forward, she can also give a team highly productive minutes playing on the wing. Newby has the ability to score at all three levels and she improves a team’s rebounding efforts.
Hannah Smith – Unfortunately for Smith, she was sidelined for much of the high school season and is still recovering from a torn ACL. One attribute that is sure to serve her well once she is fully ready to go again is her 6-foot-3 height advantage.
Karlea Stanley – It appears that Johnson Central has alternated between good seasons and bad ones lately. Stanley’s Golden Eagles had a 29-3 record at the close of last season. Offensive and defensive playmaking and the ability to score at all three levels are among the strong points of her game.
