With grassroots season tipping off players from different towns and schools are teaming up. There are some combinations of players that will look like they fit together like peanut butter and jelly. Let’s take a look at a few of those player combos.
Makayla Allen Makayla Allen 5'4" | PG Vicksburg | 2025 State MI and Kendra Cooley Kendra Cooley 5'9" | SG Vicksburg | 2025 State MI ( Macon 6 Basketball Academy )
This program has really helped develop some players over the years. Allen and Cooley will be a dangerous combination for opponents. Allen has turned herself into an efficient scorer and top notch shooter from behind the arc. She has the ability to fill it up from anywhere on the floor. Cooley will be an excellent running mate with her. She has solid court vision and is a very good passer. Cooley is aggressive with the dribble and can draw defenders and feed shooters like Allen.
Madi Uyl Madi Uyl 5'7" | PG DeWitt | 2025 State MI and Jordyn Bonnema Jordyn Bonnema 5'7" | CG Kalamazoo Christian | 2025 State MI ( MBA UAA 2025)
This will be a top notch duo when they take the court together. There’s just so much ability to attack off the bounce and make plays between the 2 of them. How does an opponent keep them both in check? Uyl is an elite ball handler that gets downhill and makes plays for herself and her teammates off the bounce. The Grand Valley State commit will demand defenders attention and open the floor for teammates. Bonnema recently received an offer from Western Michigan. She goes at the rim off the wing by using athleticism and angles. Uyl and Bonnema will both force rotations and drive defenses crazy together.
Alex Link Alex Link 5'10" | SF Athens | 2025 State MI and Reagan Zeiter Reagan Zeiter 5'9" | SG Troy | 2025 State MI ( Michigan Mystics 2025 National Team)
I’m really looking forward to seeing these 2 on the floor at the same time. Link is a versatile forward that can defend the paint and has good feet on that end. Offensively, she can score from multiple levels and stretch the floor. Zeiter can attack that open floor that Link can create. She can get to the lane and make plays. Zeiter can also distribute at a high level. These 2 both seem to have the ability to play with each other and off of each other. Together they can provide a plethora of offensive options for this Mystics squad.
