Underwood gave me the “on the ball” defense to help create turnovers on opening day and how well she saw the floor, either off the dribble or in transition on day 2 but one thing she gave me on both days was how well she shot the 3 ball. She did a good job creating her shot under pressure but she also showed she could “catch and shoot” it while being defended

Evens set the defender up nicely by using a deceptive first step to attack the basket, nice body control was there and helped her finish but watching her create her shot while being defended was also nice as she dropped it in the set with the pull-up jumper. Her court vision and ball handling was solid, as was her defense
Ciara Taylor
Ciara Taylor
Taylor is “long and athletic” which is and always will be the base. She hit the boards on both ends, showed she could attack the basket from multiple angles and did a good job defensively, both inside and outside the paint. Another big plus is her timing which is good now, yet will get better for her to block, alter and (or) deflect shots
Bowie is a heady point guard that comprehends things well so watching her handling the ball under pressure is something I’ve come to get every chance I catch her yet seeing her adapt to controlling the tempo under that same pressure speaks volumes about what’s coming. She saw the floor in the set, as well as in transition

Sostand is a “long and athletic” guard, that too is the base and her first step in the set as well as in transition are both nice as she showed she could get by the defender just about whenever she wanted. This allowed her to score or dish off the dribble yet she saw the floor in transition as well. Solid defender, quick hands and played the passing lane
Anderson handles the ball smoothly which was impressive yet her mannerisms, reactions and how she does things instinctively were even more impressive after finding out she was playing up. She set the defender up to attack and finish from multiple angles, body control played a part in scoring after contact yet she also did a good job creating her shot and dropping the jumper
