Continue Reading12 15U teams composed of players from Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas hit the Edmond, Oklahoma, courts of Solid Rock and the H.I.V.E. for the Battle In The Big Friendly. Starting with a game Friday night and continuing through Sunday afternoon the teams played four games. With the dust settled on the event it is time to finally share the players selected event all-tournament teams. I collaborated with my Oklahoma based Prep Girls Hoops/Prep Hoops colleagues Johnny Vick and Sam Duran in scouting the 15U event. We have broken out all-tournament recognition by pools since each of us saw different batches of teams. First up, the Battle In The Big Friendly Pool A first team.
Siaunna Carter Siaunna Carter 5'6" | CG The Independent School | 2028 KS , 5’6″, PG/SG, The Independent School (KS), B2B B2B Kansas Bluejays 2027, 2028 – Carter is a solidly built guard with a strong base who showed speed and quickness on both ends of the floor. She worked at the top of full court pressure and can speed up ball handlers to create turnovers. Offensively Carter got to the rim, split defenders in broken play situations and scored creatively off the bounce and inside with either hand. She also shot the ball well from the perimeter.
Sarai Graham Sarai Graham 5'3" | SG Wichita Northeast | 2028 KS , 5’3″, SG, Wichita Northeast Magnet, B2B Kansas Bluejays , 2027, 2028 – Graham shot the ball well with distance and from all around the perimeter. She also showed quickness to get into the paint and score through contact. Graham is fast, has quick hands and is successful at generating turnovers.
Millie McPherson, PG, 5’4″, Logan-Rogersville (MO), Missouri Flight 2027, 2027 – I caught McPherson playing up a game with the club’s 16U team in addition to running with her normal 15U team. She was a standout in both games that I watched…which were back-to-back tight games. She has terrific court vision and good handles. Her passing accuracy should improve quickly but she repeatedly saw the play to be made. MacPherson shot well on the perimeter with a quick release and showed solid handles.
Reid Ragsdale, 5’4″, G, Lake Highlands (TX), Triumph Basketball 2027 Select, 2028 – Ragsdale is a talented, athletic guard who has quickness and a little shimmy that gets her to the rim. She finishes with athleticism and elevation, altering her shot as needed depending on the shot challenge. Her teammates did some nice things to push her team to a solid win but Ragsdale gave them that extra ability that was hard to take away. Defensively she showed solid hand speed and good transition ability off a quick possession change.
Khloe Young, BTR 2027 UA, Dell City (OK), 2029 – Young showed herself to be a terrific combination of speed, quickness and strong handles. Her quickness, length and aggressiveness enables young to be a sticky perimeter defender as well.
