Kansas City Clash: Saturday Matchups To See (16U-17U)

This KC Clash event is one that brings together a lot of teams from all over. On Saturday there is going to be some interesting matchups within all age groups. I'm excited to see what everyone can bring to the table. In this article I highlight a few contests that interest me the most going into first day of the weekend. If everyone on these teams compete to their full abilities, they are going to be really fun to watch and eventually write about at the end of the day.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Omaha Supreme Basketball 2026 Cahill vs [program_tooltip program_id='716070' first='Lady' last='PGUHOOPS'] 2026 - 9:05 AM - Hy-Vee Arena (Court 5)

Omaha Supreme is a program that I've had the chance to cover and see quite a few times this year at all different levels. Every time one of their programs thats the floor, they display selfless play styles, skill on both sides of the floor as a group, and they usually always have a prospect or two that standout because of the ability that they bring to the floor. On Saturday morning they will be matching up against Lady PGHHOOPS 2026 in a highly anticipated contest. These are two groups that are gong to have to compete early on in the day but that shouldn't stop them from giving it their all and leaving it all on the floor. I will be in attendance and stopping by to see this specific contest and I can't wait to see how it plays out to kick off the weekend.

[program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom'] KC 2025 Reese vs [program_tooltip program_id='712692' first='Missouri' last='Flight'] 2025 - 10:10 AM - Hy-Vee Arena (Court 8)

I had a chance to see [program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom'] KC 2025 Reese compete two weekends ago in Council Bluffs and they area team that has 4-5 prospects that should get a shot to compete at the collegiate level once their high school careers come to an end. They are a team with size at the Forward position, skilled Guards at the Point and Wing spots, all while understanding the strategic part of the game. If they do what they are capable of, they are going to put together an impressive weekend from all of my accounts. On the other side you have a program in the [program_tooltip program_id='712692' first='Missouri' last='Flight'] that also brings a lot of skill to the floor. This is program that is known for their high energy play-style whenever they lace them up. They try to force their opponents into a lot of bad choices because of their pressure so we will see if that can speed up the Phenom in this one or if the Phenom will be able to combat the pressure. Either way, to should be an intense contest to say the least.

Team Trae Young 3SSB 2026 vs [program_tooltip program_id='712694' first='Missouri' last='Phenom'] EYBL 2027 - 1:25 PM - Hy-Vee Arena (Court 5)

This could be the matchup of the day in my opinion. You have two top circuit teams, competing against each other. The Phenom will be a 2027 team playing up an age level but that shouldn't change much. They have multiple prospects that have D1 offers already and they know what they are doing when they take the floor. Team Trae Young 3SSB on the other hands is going to be a group that just came together this year as a program. They are also filled with several individuals that are going to get a shot to compete once they graduate high school. I'm going to give the advantage to Team Trae Young right off the bat because of the age difference but if the Phenom come out and win by double digits, it would not surprise me in the slightest. If anyone is just walking around and needs a game to see to take up some time, this is going to be a really good one in which anything can truly happen.

CBE Oklahoma 2025 vs Team Trea Young 2025 Seig - 4:40 PM - Hy-Vee Arena (Court 9)

CBE Oklahoma 2025 is a program and team that I have not seen or heard about up until this point. While doing some research it seems that they have had a successful Spring up until this point though and they are hoping to carry that momentum moving forward into this weekend in Kansas City. On the other side you have Team Trae Young 2025 Seig. This group might not be their 3SSB first team but that doesn't mean that they don't have some noteworthy prospects. This is a program that prides themselves on being fundamental and efficient basketball players so I would be shocked if that wasn't the case with this group as well. This game is truly a big question mark to myself before tomorrow. It could go either way so it will come down to who is going to be the group that steps up when it matters the most in the end. Something I can't wait to sit down and see first hand.
