I saw a little bit of everything, including a talented Texas Aces 2028 squad filled with several 2029 players who are already locks for the next level, including Finely Heinn who has a ceiling with no roof, she’s an All-Tournament lock but first, here ya go
Krislynn Bryant
Krislynn Bryant
Bryant is an athletic guard who understands how to use her athleticism on both ends and she a knack for being a momentum changer throughout the game. Her “on the ball” pressure was smothering at times, she used her quick hands to come away with steals, she also got few playing the passing lane yet she also scored off the dribble. Her court vision also stood out but her energy trickled down to her teammates
Gonzales showed me a lot off the top and her playing the passing lane immediately grabbed my attention. She also did a good job defending both in the set as well as baseline to baseline, she hit the boards and handled the ball afterward, went coast to coast a few times to score or dish yet her court vision stood out both in the set as well as in transition
Lopez gave me an eyeful when the lights came on and it would have been fitting if they went off after she started dropping jumpers, mid to long-range. She also used her athleticism on both ends to score off the dribble and finish after contact or apply heat on the defense end. She did good job playing the passing lane, even grabbed some rebounds
Kennedi Scriver
Kennedi Scriver
Scriver plays for a team that dropped into my “must see group” on the PGH Circuit last season so any chance I can catch them, I take advantage of it. Scriver did several things in the 2 games I caught her and one was she found ways to put the ball into the basket as well as get hers “in the flow” which is always great. Her court vision was solid yet when she showed me the catch and shoot long ball, I knew it was time call it day
Lanyse Johnson
Lanyse Johnson
Johnson energized me after a grueling day with her energy as she falls into that “never takes a play off” type of player. You never know who’s watching is one of my mottos and no matter what the score is, you play hard and she did just that. Her on the ball defense helped to create turnovers, so did her playing the passing lane but she’s also a “long and athletic guard” with good timing to block shots. Her first step is solid and it helped her score off the dribble
