Game-Changing '27s to Know this Summer

These freshmen were all impact players for their teams last season and should make some notable appearances in the initial release of the 2027 class rankings later this month. Be sure to check them out this summer because they could be some of the biggest stock-risers heading into next winter.    Johnson just simply makes plays all over the court. An excellent motor and aggressive nature propels her to succeed on both ends of the floor. She's a ball magnet, racking up steals, and has great speed with the ball that helps her continually get to the rim. She has great touch at the rim and makes some tough finishes from different angles. She's a player to watch who should help Wapato challenge at the top of the 1A again next winter.     She plays more of a wing role with her AAU squad but in the high school season, Parcher handles the ball a lot and thrives from both spots. She's the kind of player who can bring down the board and take it the length of the floor. She's strong on the dribble, a good athlete, and a tough player in by the rim.     Bryant is a lightning-quick player who's shown she can score at every level, though she seems best at getting to the hoop where she can split defenders with quick moves or go up strong off two feet. She has some high potential and was already a key player in their run to the 1A state title game last season.     Sheridan is a combo guard who can score the rock. She has solid moves on the perimeter to create space and bursts into gaps with some purpose. She shows good footwork to the rim to split defenders and can finish around contests. She's got some good awareness in traffic too and can whip out some up-and-unders and other moves to find space. She can step outside and knock down some 3s too and is yet another player to know in a talented 2027 class.     Davis has a great youth movement going on and Garcia is another up-and-coming freshman for the Pirates. She can do just about everything you would want from the point and more. She's super fluid, plays quick but controlled, and establishes a great flow with her decision-making. She's just an awesome talent who makes plays across the board that I'm excited to watch grow over the next few years.     Hull is a tall guard with a nice, easy stroke who also brings some good athleticism to the court. She can play from the perimeter with a good mix of shooting and drives, but also makes plays around the rim and on the glass. She uses her size well to make shots through defenders or wrap around them with some soft touch.     Domebo is a scrappy guard who's a sparkplug on both ends. She was an honorable mention all-league selection last season after averaging 12 points per game. She's quick to the ball defensively, quick to the rim on offense, and shows a little shake with the rock in her hands. She's part of a tough backcourt at Central Valley, a team that returns all but one varsity player in 2024-25.     McGinnis is a young point guard who's got a little pace to her and keeps the ball flowing in the halfcourt. She's aggressive looking for openings and doing a pretty good job keeping the dribble going when drives break down. She has a nice set shot from 3 and can hit the midrange shots off the bounce.
