Another June sees Milton High School and Head Coach Julian Barfield hosting their highly competitive Summer Swish League. I was there competing with my own Mt Bethel Girls team and got a look before and after our games to see some of the other eye-catching talent on hand, here's part 2.

After arriving last fall from St Francis she shared the ball with star 2024 Nya Smith, but it's Walker's team this year and she looked the poised and assured leader last week now that she is the true guiding hand for this bunch, the Red team is made up primarily of their top rotation players and she has active bigs and capable wings to choose from as a distributor and has the kind of court vision college programs crave, her physical frame allows her to get downhill with authority and she doesn't mind playing off of bodies and getting to the line, gifted and ready for a big breakout.

Tristen Brown | Guard | Fellowship Christian | 2026

The Paladins are breaking in some new faces after another solid season a year ago but Brown is a returnee with promise who steps into a leadership role, she steadily plays her role for them converting her good looks at a high clip and working her tail off at the defensive end, doesn't make a ton of mistakes and can give them shooting, rebounding and ballhandling, fits their system well and is the kind of heady player you can build around when integrating fresh faces, keep an eye on 2027 guard Rebecca Wade as well as she saw played Varsity as a freshman last year and showed strides too last week for sure.

Kate Stewart | Forward | Milton Blue | 2027

Milton has two teams playing in the league and the Blue team is comprised of mostly underclassmen, Stewart has the look of an intriguing and burgeoning post player with good feet and understanding of the position, active on the glass with good energy she can face up some as well but did most of her significant damage around the cup as a confident finisher when I saw them, this Blue team features several interesting names to watch as fellow 2027 guard Carson McElroy also had several nice moments dishing and scoring.

Annie Dinschel | Forward | Mt Bethel | 2025

Annie Dinschel

A two-time All-Region selection out of deep A-D1 Dinschel has made her bones as a consistent double-double machine for the Eagles, she was a 15 & 12 nightly stat stuffer two seasons ago before ankle problems limited her overall production in '23-24, but now healthy the volleyball standout gets after it on the offensive glass like few other forwards among the smaller schools and can go on some scoring runs from 15 feet and in that have carried the improving Eagles in the past.

Still a bit raw but possessing the kind of IQ you'd love to have in more veteran players, once she adjusts to the speed and physical nature of high school basketball in the ATL-Metro there's a lot to build on, plays a hybrid PG/SG for the Eagles coming off screens and getting downhill, has some natural gifts off the catch and shoot and getting more shots up will obviously up those percentages, the fact she'll see the ball a lot for what is a veteran team returning speaks to the promise.
