Competitive Edge Sports was rocking on Day 2 of the Jam Fest! Saturday saw some incredible action, including a sensational performance by the Runnin Rebels' Emma Anthony. Today did not disappoint as the players brought all the fire! Let's take a look at who impressed me on this final day in June.

[player_tooltip player_id='414340' first='Macie' last='McCracken'] | NJ Soldiers

It was one of those vintage shooting performances by Macie this morning against the [program_tooltip program_id='714728' first='Riverside' last='Hawks']. She had 17 first half points to her name and they came in a variety of ways. In the first two minutes of the game she already racked up 6 points on dashing rim runs. She banged in three corner 3's and even grabbed rebounds for put-backs. She opened up the second half banging in a 3 from the left wing and followed that up with a sweet baseline jumper and another 3, this time from the opposite wing, It's no secret that she can shoot the leather off the ball, but it's still quite the sight to see her torch opponents.

[player_tooltip player_id='866560' first='Kayla' last='Solomon'] | [program_tooltip program_id='714728' first='Riverside' last='Hawks']

Watching Kayla hoop today, all I could say to myself was, "Wow this girl is really good." She pushed the pace and aggressively attacked the basket, finding the angle at the rim charging full steam ahead. She thrived in a run-and-gun style of basketball with a motor that just wouldn't quit! It seemed like she scored or assisted on almost every basket because she was everywhere all at once. Her pull up mid-range pop was both effortless and efficient. She used her dribble to create just enough separation to get good looks around the floor. On one play, she shook off the defender with a crossover that led to a silky smooth step-back 3. Her hot shooting led the Hawks to a six-point win over the Soldiers early this morning.

Jenna Hillebrand | NEPA Elite

Jenna's ability to score the ball at all three levels was on full display today! She gave the Comets fits with her hard-nosed drives and highly efficient shooting. Her intensity earned her multiple trips to the stripe for free points. In one impressive sequence, she drained a pull-up jumper from 12 feet through traffic then snagged a steal in the back court and got to the rim for an easy 2. And the steals didn't stop there! She applied bothersome ball pressure which forced multiple turnovers and ignited the fast break. Being locked in on both sides of the ball paid dividends for Jenna!

[player_tooltip player_id='462423' first='Nylah' last='Davis'] | 717 Hoop Dreams

Playing with a lot of bounce and a ton of swagger, Nylah made life miserable for the CJ Hawks on Court 2. She was crafty getting to the rim and finishing strong through contact time and time again. She kept the ball on a string as she wove through the defense in attempts to slash her way inside the paint. She was light on her feet as she dribbled her way out of traps and looked to create for both herself and her teammates. Defensively, she put the clamps on and came up with steals in the back court that led to buckets the other way.

Brigidanne Donohue | Comets

On a team full of shooters, Brigidanne shined just a little bit brighter than the bunch today versus in-state rival Runnin Rebels. Her length was too much to handle as she got to the rim at will and finished over defenders at the rim. On one impressive sequence, she missed a shot, got her own rebound, missed again, got her own rebound again and then finally got the put-back to go on her third attempt. That's called sticking with the play and never giving up! It's called tenacity and relentlessness! Her footwork was on point, spinning her way into the paint leading to easy points near the basket.

Elena Brunetti | Penn Fever

At 6'0" and with long, leaping strides, Elena covered so much ground this afternoon in a dominant win over NEPA Elite. From leaners in the lane to o-boards and put-backs, she did it all. During one stretch in the first half, she took over and scored several consecutive baskets, earning trips to the free throw line in the process. She set screens near the perimeter, protected the rim down low and used her size to make an impact everywhere on the floor. Her movement was fluid rolling off screens and getting to the basket. She was just flat-out tough today!

Morgan Stewart | Germantown Lady Panthers

Morgan was clutch today versus a very talented Comets 15U squad. She got to the rim at will, with quickness and excellent footwork, absorbing contact along the way. She kept the defense working overtime to try and contain her, with effective ball fakes and quick spins in her arsenal. When the game got tight in the second half, she made big baskets and put forth a big defensive effort. Late in the game with the score tied, she got fouled and hit one of two free throws, putting her team up by 1. With a few seconds left, she stole the pass off the inbound and sealed the win for GLP, 44-43.
