One of the busiest months of the year is right around the corner. July is a month where we have two live periods for Division One coaches to go around the country and see kids play, and it ends the bulk of AAU teams' seasons. Most importantly, it's a pivotal month in terms of recruiting. Programs may have watched these kids play multiple times over the past three months and may decide to offer players this month in particular after having a large sample size. There will likely be some commitments at the end of the month or early August, so let's look at some players to watch this month. Today, we'll focus on 25 and 26 because they are the ones drawing the most attention at this point.

[player_tooltip player_id='767790' first='Violet' last='Otto']

Players who can space the floor will always have interest coming from programs at the next level. Otto has proven that she can play and hang with some of the best teams in the region and be the reason her teams can beat some of the best in the Midwest, which she showed last summer, hitting seven threes against a talented 15U North Tartan team. I'm sure she has fielded some calls since the 2026s and started getting direct calls from scholarship-level programs, and she may continue to elevate interest in her through July.

[player_tooltip player_id='602354' first='Sophie' last='Trimble']

The M14 Hoops team Trimble joined already looked different than when it started after a month. Trimble hasn't had the stability that most have had, but there is a role for her at the next level. She's a physical 5'10 wing who is at her best when she attacks the basket and can use her physicality on the defensive end of the floor. Trimble doesn't have to score 20 per game to be effective. Trimble has the motor and tenacity to rebound, defend, create extra possessions, and play like a 6'2 forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='528115' first='Addison' last='Schliewe']

The Sheboygan Falls forward drew some eyes at Summer Slam this past weekend in Appleton. There is plenty to like about what she does. She's mobile, spaces the floor, and has more length than anyone could ask for in one player. Her defensive ceiling is sky-high. Once she gets used to the college game, the 6'2 forward could become a force in a conference, depending on where she ends up.

[player_tooltip player_id='338947' first='Lauren' last='Strifling']

Plenty of elite scholarship programs have been interested or offered a scholarship to Strifling at this point in her recruitment. She's been a productive kid in any role at Chapman or Homestead. However, she's made me think there is more to her game than she's been able to show. The shooting, at 5'11, when she's at her best, can knock down six or seven in a game, which can change the outcome of any game. She's probably the most intriguing 2025 left to me because of all the options she has now and could wind up with in July.
