Incarnate Word Academy: The defending Class 6 state champions will field another strong unit. They are led by 5'10 2025 Indiana commit [player_tooltip player_id='624398' first='Nevaeh' last='Caffey'] and 5'10 2025 athlete [player_tooltip player_id='302784' first='Peyton' last='Hill']. The 2026 guard trio of [player_tooltip player_id='302756' first='Peyton' last='Olufson'], [player_tooltip player_id='351778' first='Savannah' last='Stricker'] and Adie Owen will play bigger roles while new to the program are 6'2 2026 forwards [player_tooltip player_id='317348' first='Nevaeh' last='Lucious'] and Ava Albanese.

Cardinal Ritter: The Lions will field a talented team with a lot of depth. They feature two seasoned point guards in 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='344798' first='Daijah' last='Jones'] and [player_tooltip player_id='493372' first='Alanah' last='Howard']. New guard [player_tooltip player_id='302377' first='Brooke' last='Boyce'] can play all three perimeter positions with her versatility. Ritter also showcased some very capable new frontcourt players in 5'10 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='734458' first='McKenzie' last='McCann'], 6'0 2026 Kahmyla Bell and 5'10 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='736752' first='Mariah' last='Green-Williams'].

Lift for Life: The Class 4 state champions flashed their speed and quickness and relentless defensive pressure in the game that I watched against Breese Mater Dei. The Hawks still have one of the deepest group of guards in the state and they are all under underclassmen. They feature 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='488377' first='Zha' last='Harris'] and [player_tooltip player_id='493477' first='Diamond' last='Polk'] along with 2027 twins Amaya and [player_tooltip player_id='803071' first='Cara' last='Manuel']. All four of them can score off the dribble, shoot the 3-pointer and play excellent defense. The Hawks also have some young and athletic forwards who have a lot of potential.

St. Pius X: The Lancers are coming off an record-setting season where they advanced to the Final Four of the Class 3 state tournament. They had a nice nucleus back and they looked impressive in a victory over University that I watched. St. Pius has a strong anchor inside in 6'1" 2026 forward [player_tooltip player_id='415885' first='Brooke' last='Blankenship'], who can score around the basket and also control the boards. The group of guards around Blankenship are also very good with 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='634011' first='PJ' last='Krodiger'], 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='1117289' first='Carlei' last='Clubb'] and 2025 Bridget Flanagan all capable of playmaking and shot making.

Principia: The Panthers were another Final Four team in the team camp as they were a Class 2 state finalist. They had a very competitive game against Columbia Hickman in the game that I watched that went down the final seconds. They have one of the top prospects in the event in 6'2" 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='791650' first='Dasia' last='Scott'] who was a force inside with her scoring and rebounding. Her combination of strength and finesse makes her tough to deal with. Principia also unleashed a talented young player in 2028 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='897772' first='Loganne' last='Love'], who can score at all three levels. She scored in the finals seconds to give the Panthers the victory.

Hickman: I watched a little bit of the Kewpies on Thursday, but I'll be watching a lot more of them on Saturday when I visit their Kewpie Court Classic. They have a strong dynamic duo in 5'10" 2025 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='303297' first='Jayla' last='Griffith'] and 5'11" 2025 forward Sy'rae Stemmons. Griffith is one of the top point guards in the state as a scorer and playmaker. Stemmons is an athletic combo forward who is strong when she's getting to the basket and rebouding.

Pattonville: The Pirates will have a new coach, but they will have three solid veteran performers in 2025s [player_tooltip player_id='509644' first='Kennedy' last='Horton'], [player_tooltip player_id='465331' first='Kodie' last='Gordon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='424774' first='Hannah' last='Fenton']. Horton is a 6'1" forward who is a matchup problem with her ability to face the basket and drive the ball and make jump shots. She also runs the court well in transition. Fenton and Gordon will form a very talented backcourt. Gordon was swishing home some high-arching 3-pointers in the game against Edwardsville while Fenton is jet quick with the ability to score at all three levels.

Mater Dei: The Knights brought over a talented team from Southern Illinois. They feature a Division I prospect in 6'6" 2025 center Alyssa Koerkenmeier, who is a force around the basket. She gets deep post position and she is going to score if she doesn't draw the double team. She is paired with a talented guard in 6'0" 2025 Maris Zurliene who can score while also being the chief ball handler. Amelia Beer is a 5'9" 2026 wing player who was strong on the drive.

Lafayette: The Lancers have a young team which some good up and coming players. They battled pretty well against some more experienced and established teams. They have a pair of 2027 twin guards in [player_tooltip player_id='905509' first='Maria' last='Golfo'] and [player_tooltip player_id='905511' first='Emelia' last='Golfo'] who are good all-around players with high basketball IQs. I was very impressed with 5'9" 2028 guard Bella Graham, who is a very skilled and versatile player.
