The Top Seven Prospects Joining the 2026 Ranks

The top seven include three talents from the 6A and 5A ranks who entered in the top 40. She averaged 6 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks over 16 minutes per game. Nebraska scout Jeremy Brooks got a good look at her at the PGH KC Clash. In naming her to the 16U/17U first team he described her as a extremely dominant prospect with an experience and seasoned post game. He liked Opoku-Athena's physicality, her understanding of her role within the program and how well she knows spacing and balance.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#28</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='908452' first='Mallie' last='Irsik'], 5'11", SG, St. James Academy - Nebraska scout Jeremy Brooks had a lot to say about Irsik after watching her at the PGH KC Clash in May. He said she "stood out both metaphorically and quite literally" throughout the two day event. She shot the ball extremely well, got to the rim off the dribble strongly and played with a high level of competitiveness. "She made smart plays and she kept it simple more times than not." He was impressed with how well she used her length and discipline to collect numerous blocks and not fouls.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#36</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='910362' first='Rylie' last='Edwards'], 5'11", CG, Blue Valley Northwest - Nebraska scout Jeremy Brooks caught Edwards at PGH's KC Clash in May. He liked how well Edwards used her size, coordination and movement around the basket. He also enjoyed her ability to shoot it from distance and anticipation of action before it happens. Edwards also works switches well to defend smaller and bigger opponents and her ability to jump to the ball on help-side situations. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#60</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='895650' first='Sylvia' last='Selmon'], 5'3", SG, The Independent School - Selmon can be expected to have a big impact on the Panthers' drive to repeat as 2A state champions. A terrific shooter who reads and works the screen game well Selmon was seen knocking down threes by Oklahoma scout Sam Duren and me at the PGH Battle in the Big Friendly. At times she seemed automatic. With her quick release and no wasted movement Selmon knocked them down from everywhere with range. Selmon is also fast with the ball and finishes at speed in transition and off the bounce.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#68</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='904762' first='Addie' last='Fulscher'], 5'5", PG/SG, Lawrence Free State - Fulscher is a two-time Sunflower League honorable mention selection who is a big part of the Firebirds' improving competitiveness. Using good half court vision, handles and athleticism she scores the pull-up jumper well. She shoots her perimeter shot quickly and with range. Fulscher also uses change of pace dribbles to good effect. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#69</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='924444' first='Arina' last='Torok'], 6'3", C, Life Prep Academy - Torok is a Hungarian center with great size and long arms that runs the floor solidly. She has a good, quick release off the catch. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>#70</strong> [player_tooltip player_id='905744' first='Alaina' last='Schwisow'], 5'6", PG, Basehor-Linwood - The first thing that caught my eye when watching some Basehor-Linwood footage was the average built guard, who turned out to be Schwisow, who flat boxed out opponents well on the perimeter. That got my attention! Watching her more I saw how well she moved into space for a spot up, elevated well on her jumpers, knocked down mid-range shots and showed herself to be a credible three point shooter. She shoots it with range, a quickish release and plenty of arch.
