As you all know, our state is a fairly good size state. No it's not the size of Texas, California, ect. But a pretty good size to where there is a lot of ground to cover. Also, and you can agree with me on this or not, our state is rich in talent when it comes to the women's game. Not everyone is D1, however there are plenty of girls who fill the rosters of colleges at the other levels who come from the volunteer state. Who cares what level a girl plays on, getting that education paid for and competing at a higher level is all that should matter. That's a conversation for another day.

Our state is broken up geographically by East, Middle, West. However, we need to break it down into smaller pieces due to the fact we have so many quality kids throughout the area. Today, I want to talk about South Central Tennessee. Where is that? Well below Nashville just right above the Alabama state line.

Due to the amount of people who live in the area, time is often overlooked. Yes, cities like Franklin and Spring Hill get some love due to their proximity to Nashville. However, there are some up and coming hoopers within the southern part of the state who need love too. Sure these girls may be closer to Huntsville, AL than Nashville or Memphis. But these girls hoop for the tri-star. Here, we uncovered a few young gems. They might have been overlooked based on their locale or they go to a smaller school. Here we show them some love because at the end of the day, ball is ball and these young ladies can hoop.

Check out some kids you need to know from the south central (middle) part of Tennessee.

Khloe Burton (5'10/F/Fr./BGA)- BGA got a steal with this kid. An inside out player who can bang down low or shoot the three ball from the arc. She has handles which enable her to stretch the floor and attack off the dribble. I like her physicality where she goes hard after offensive boards, getting the put back And 1 call through contact. She bangs on the defensive end. Making it tough for low post players to operate. A solid kid who will fit right into the BGA system.

[player_tooltip player_id='1239760' first='Tess' last='Long'] (5'5/G/Fr./Summertown)- The kid is coming along but I love her scrappiness. She plays with speed and hustles her tail off. Sees the floor well, utilizing her inside out moves to get by defenders on her way to the basket. Isn't afraid to get in there and mix it up with taller opponents. When it is all said and done, this kid is going to be a solid prospect who will contribute to the program in a mighty big way.

[player_tooltip player_id='748461' first='Bailey' last='Blair'] (5'5/CG/So./Richland)- Don't let the size fool you, this girl is an absolute dawg. A 3 level scoring threat, she plays with a lot of heart and energy. Can get shifty with the ball in her hands, its hesi pull up or cross between downhill to the rim. She plays tough defense and gives it her all on every single possession. She's a gym rat who continues to get better every time she steps onto the floor. Solid prospect who will be a great addition to a program at the next level.

Adalyn Fisher (5'6/PG/Fr./ East Hickman)- When you see a ballplayer walk in the gym who exudes confidence, this girl is that. Tough competitor who has nice handles, can score the rock from deep, but attacking the lanes is her bread and butter. Has a high basketball IQ and sees the floor well. Her teammates feed off her energy and she gives all she has on every play. Talk about someone who can go, this girl can. Solid kid who has a bright future.

Aubri Fisher (5'5/SG/Fr./ East Hickman)- I forgot to mention above that Adalyn and Aubri are twins. Double trouble. You got the driver and then you have Aubri, the finisher. Shoots the ball well from the arc at a high clip, has a pretty shot release that tends to always find the bottom of the net. Plays with a high motor. Communicates well on D. Someone who gives the extra effort to ensure her club wins that possession. I love her game and how she brings her hard work and determination mentality to the floor. Solid kid who will contribute sooner rather than later.

[player_tooltip player_id='816727' first='Ellie' last='Harris'] (5'8/PG/Jr./ Grace Christian Academy-Franklin)- Solid kid who has grown tremendously. Plays with a lot of hustle and heart, this multi-level scoring threat is the heartbeat of the Lady Lions club. Great basketball IQ, locks up on the defensive end, rebounds, makes timely passes, gets steals, makes the extra effort plays. A positive teammate who gets everyone involved. She's a tough competitor who goes all out. When the game is on the line, she's the floor general who looks to rally the troops. This year, she will be stepping into a bigger role. By playing with poise and bringing that relentless effort mentality to the floor as she has done every single time, the squad will be in good hands. Solid prospect who has a bright future.
