As much attention as the top prospects will get in July, today, I'd like to highlight some kids who could be small-school prospects and could make an impression at some time this month.

Being stuck behind a kid who is now playing in the Big Ten and another who helped Arrowhead win a state title is rather unlucky. However, Kescenovitz has a chance to be a breakout star in the 2024-25 season. Kescenovitz could be a kid who surprises people in July because of her physicality around the basket and shooting touch. Some tools are valuable in any offense in America, and she has them. The more I've seen her this summer, the more I've liked her.

Versatile wings are something every team looks for, and I'd say Field is a versatile 5'11 kid. She can knock down perimeter shots if she gets time and space, even though Field wants to pass more than she wants to score. However, her ability to move her feet on the defensive end of the floor and use her size to dig in and rebound also helps her add value to any lineup she plays in. She isn't a highly talked about prospect in her class, but I can see a world where she's a productive player at the next level.

Athletic frontcourt pieces aren't always easy to come by, but Pedersen fits that bill. She's a mobile kid who can get up and down the floor and has flashed some defensive upside when I've seen her this summer. Pedersen attacks the defensive glass well and does a solid job boxing out and clearing possessions. Pedersen has also shown that she can make some perimeter shots from time to time in the high school season. That could be something that gets more consistent in time. However, her size and motor will be something coaches like.

Watching Dahlquist at Hamilton this season was something. I don't think anything she does is jaw-dropping, but she does everything well. The Charger has solid footwork, scores well over her left shoulder, has a jumper, attacks the boards, and catches the ball in traffic. Dahlquist is a fundamentally sound kid who you could throw on the floor and know that she won't look out of place. Post-kids having the kind of polish that Dahlquist does, aren't common at any level. She may have the out-of-this-world athleticism that some kids do at her size, but she can find multiple ways to be productive no matter who she lines up against. I've loved her game for a while, and know she could help a program at the next level.
